The grounds were lovely, peaceful and private. The inside was shabby and grubby. Fridge and cupboards, dirty. We were aware and fully accepted that this was a work in progress but soap and water are cheap enough and elbow grease is free

As hosts we live in part of the same 150-yr-old building - on the other far side from the Guest-Wings ... you can fully feel like you are completely in your "own space".
