Come and hide yourselves away in this private and scenic holiday home, nestled in a grove of mature puriri and pohutukawa trees, with direct beach access and magnificent views.
Leave your shoes at home and follow the 3-minute path through native bush until you link up with the Cathedral Cove track to the beach. The track to Cathedral Cove, one of the most beautiful beaches in New Zealand, reopened in December 2024. An absolute MUST DO!
Relax on the two decks, fire up the BBQ or play a game of cards – whatever you enjoy doing, there will be the background sound of the waves of the ocean just below the house!
Take some time for yourself and hang out in the window seat with a good book, your favorite drink or simply just rest and enjoy the views over Mahurangi, one of the islands of Te-Whanganui A Hei.
The master king bedroom upstairs (private access onto the deck) and the queen bedroom downstairs, each have their own ensuite bathroom, which makes this holiday home just perfect for a family or 2 couples. The queen bedroom which opens out to the lower deck, also has a fold out futon couch, which can be made up into a bed for a small child but is not recommended for an adult.
Upstairs, next to the living area is a study with a desk and another couch, which folds out into a small double, suitable for another child.
This holiday home is a classic architect – designed 1990s beach house that has been in the same family since it was built. It’s the perfect base for a memorable Hahei Beach Escape.
We recommend a maximum of 4 adults and 2 small children at this house.

We loved our stay at this Hahei bach — it’s perfectly located just a short stroll to the beach, with fantastic views and a real sense of privacy. The place was very comfortable, and the deck and outdoor areas were a highlight — ideal for relaxing and taking it all in.A special mention to Tina, who was an excellent host: communication was great, and she was genuinely helpful throughout. We’d happily stay again.
