About this property
Scarlet Woods Chalets
Relax on your private balcony in your hot tub, surrounded by massive trees and gorgeous views. Kangaroos and abundant birdlife on the doorstop of a stunning little chalet. Take a walk around our 140-acre property on our many walk trails through the forest, or to the nearby Quinninup Lake. Then have a nice glass of local wine in the evening while relaxing by your wood fire or take advantage of the clear skies for some stargazing. There are 4 identical chalets on site, each self-contained with 2 queen bedrooms, fully equipped kitchen, wood fire and reverse cycle AC in the lounge, BBQ, toilet, bathroom with rain shower, and hot tub on the balcony. Now also with WiFi. Enjoy your privacy, but our on-site managers are nearby to help if you need anything.

About the host
Hosted by Monica Newman
Hi, we are Jamie and Monica :)
We met in Austria in 2012, where Monica visited as a guest to a hostel that Jamie had helped set up in the Tirolean mountains. Since then, we juggled our time between Europe and Australia doing various seasonal jobs so we could spend more time together. After seven years we moved back to Monica's hometown in the wheatbelt. One year later, we bought our first place together in Manjimup, where we could follow our passion of growing our own food. One serendipitous day we went to the beach and saw a 'For Sale' sign at Scarlet Woods, it’s perfect here. A week later, we had put in a bid which was accepted, and we sold our little farm to move there in January 2023. A month later we hosted our own wedding, and now we are fully focused on looking after this stunning property to the best of our ability. We are incredibly fortunate to live in such an amazing place. Luckily, we are both hard-workers and don't have children yet, so we can make some significant improvements to the business. Our aim is for guests to have a memorable and relaxing holiday, whilst we steward the land and its diverse wildlife.
One day we will have an abundance of garden beds and fruit and nut trees and also hope to share this with our guests. Of course, the journey is long, and it will all happen organically (pun intended).
