About this property
"Harry's Place" Cottage
53 Cromie St, Murtoa, VIC, 3390, Australia
This cottage was originally built in 1910. It was a single room incorporating the kitchen and bedroom with the "Outback" toilet. Renovations and additions were added in 2019 to make this into a little treat of a retreat.
The previous owner Harry Hempel worked on the railways as a stoker on steam engines, and is who the cottage is named after.
Cottage includes full size fridge, electric oven, microwave, coffee pod machine, kettle, toaster, slow cooker, waffle press, air-con and heating in all rooms, TVs in all rooms, iron with ironing board, all linen and towels provided, heated towel rack, crockery/cutlery/utensils to the max, full size bath, queen sized bed, bunk bed and cot in main bedroom, with sofa bed in lounge. Fully self contained. Plus an outback loo. (Plenty of of off street parking too).
25km from Horsham and 45mins to Halls Gaps and the Grampians.
Murtoa offers a recreational lake and reserve, incorporating great fishing. The famous heritage listed stick shed. The Murtoa Water Tower Museum and Precinct. Plus silo art on a former flour mill silo.
Half way between Melbourne and Adelaide, it's a perfect spot to have a travel break.
