Nice location but needs some attention to details
Positives: This house is in a great location for exploring downtown Savannah and Tybee Island, as it's about halfway between both. The neighborhood is nice and there's a small wildlife preserve with trails that can be accessed right at the end of the street. The host was quick to reply to messages and brought us some necessary things that were missing from the house (kitchen chairs, knives).
Drawbacks: When we arrived, the floor and area rug were obviously dirty. We would have vacuumed it up ourselves but there was no vacuum. Housekeeping did come within the hour, and the solution was to just remove the dirty rug completely. We pulled out plates for our first meal and found dried food caked onto about half of them. There was sticky goo in the fridge. The house needs a good vacuum in all the corners and along edges. We were also frustrated at the kitchen "table", which is barely wide enough for six plates and six people. The sliding door to the backyard is old and sticks--so it takes one person pulling with both hands to yank it open. The lock mechanism for this is simply a wooden stick thrown down to prevent anyone opening the door from the outside. These are just miscellaneous details that prevent this house from being five stars--also spray paint on the kitchen window, stains on the bathroom rugs, and items missing that you'd expect to find in a rental, like trash bags, a hair dryer, and grill utensils.
