About this property

Cozy suite with mountain and lake views. Easy walk to ski shuttle and shopping.

NEW RESTRICTIVE SHORT-TERM RENTAL LAWS ARE IN EFFECT STARTING MAY 1 IN BRITISH COLUMBIA. WE ARE FULLY COMPLIANT.

Spring and summer are beautiful times to visit Nelson; lots of great hiking, backpacking, mountain biking, bouldering and soaking in Hot Springs. Or enjoy the tremendous of the view of Elephant Mountain and the Kootenay River and walking around in cute historic downtown Nelson.

For your convenience, the kitchen is stocked with a mini fridge, microwave, double hot plate, kitchen table with two chairs, French press with local organic coffee, and lots of food prep and serving ware.

The suite is close to a road, so there is significant noise during commuting times. I stock silicone ear plugs and a bluetooth device for white noise. That said, only one guest has complained about the noise.

This property is in a great location and we were able to wàlk everywhere. However, we did not receive any communication about the property before we arrived and weren’t sure if we were even going to be able to get in. Thankfully the owner was home upstairs upon arrival and was able to let us in and give us the code to get in. The place was definitely not clean, with hair still in the bathroom from a man shaving. It also smelt incredibly musty, which gave me immediate allergies. It was also so noisy at night with traffic noise and again early in the morning. Earplugs and white noise did little to help. I could deal with most of this for our 2 night stay however the worst was yet to come. On our second night, my son started to get an incredibly itchy leg - bed bugs. Hence the misty smell I assume. I will definitely not be staying here again.

Nelson for a night.
Ok for 1 night. Room was cold upon arrival. Not as clean as other VRBO stays. Used/ dirty sponge left. Towels had some dye stains and smelled a bit musty. No exterior lights when we returned in the early evening and a lot of stairs up to the suite. Fridge wasn’t plugged in but we didn’t realize until morning when our leftovers were spoiled. The room was as advertised. Parking was good. Shower had great water pressure and hot. Host was great to communicate with. We would choose to stay somewhere else next time.

Hello I'm from Washington State. I was born in Portland Oregon. I met Christina last year. Fell in love and got married this April. Christina was born and raised in Winnipeg. She's lived in all the big cities in Canada and now lives in one of the smallest. And most beautiful.

Why they chose this property

This is Christina's home. I just moved in and need some way to make a living so you're it!

What makes this property unique

Most important part of this property is how walkable it is. Someone coming from the US can fly into spokane, take the ski shuttle bus to Nelson, and then walk and shuttle everywhere. This includes a 3-minute walk to the ski shuttle so you can be on the hill in 15 minutes. We're also 6 minute walk from downtown and the mall.

The other amazing thing about this property is the view. It's also an easy walk to the Lakeside Park.
