About this property

Introducing Laurel Hill, a beautiful log cabin overlooking the Blue Ridge mountains

Nestled in the heart of the picturesque Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, a region affectionately referred to as "God's Country" by the locals, Laurel Hill in Sapphire Valley offers an extraordinary rental home experience for those with discerning taste.

Upon your arrival at this three-story log home, you'll be immediately drawn to the stunning panoramic views that unfold before you, featuring the breathtaking vistas of Sapphire Valley, beautifully framed by the grandeur of Whiteside Mountain and Chimney Top to the west. Step out onto the expansive elevated deck, thoughtfully furnished with lounges and inviting rocking chairs, and you'll find it difficult to resist the allure of the exquisite spa nestled within. The deck also offers two covered areas, one adjoining the master bedroom and the other adjacent to the dining area, creating perfect settings for moments of relaxation and tranquility.

The main floor of Laurel Hill boasts a chef's kitchen equipped with every modern convenience, a formal dining room, a laundry room featuring state-of-the-art front-loading machines, a half bathroom, and a primary bedroom with an ensuite bath. Just outside the kitchen, you'll discover a propane BBQ station on the covered porch, a delightful outdoor dining area awaiting your culinary creations. The great room boasts a vaulted knotty pine ceiling and impressive log accents. Here you can bask in the warm glow of the wood-burning, floor-to-ceiling Appalachian dry-stack fireplace.

Ascend to the open loft, accessible via charming half-log pine stairs, where two guest rooms beckon with their handcrafted hickory and pine log beds, vaulted ceilings, and dormer windows. A charming Jack-and-Jill bath featuring a shower-spa tub combination, an expansive sitting area, and a well-appointed armoire business center ensure the comfort of your guests.

On the lower level is the basement 'Man Cave', a true marvel, complete with a large smart TV, a prow sitting area, a custom-made queen log bed, and an ensuite shower bath. If you still crave the invigorating mountain air, set up the hammock outside and unwind on the rock deck. For those with energy to spare, a journey down the lighted rock stairway to the lower terrace rewards you with a cool beverage, a campfire, and a mesmerizing starlit sky.

Laurel Hill offers whole-house sound, a Sonos system, three smart televisions with DirecTV, a cellular telephone extender, and lightning-fast fiber-optic Internet. The loft is thoughtfully equipped with a desk and two wireless printer-scanners.

As for recreational pursuits, our guests enjoy exclusive access to Sapphire Valley's amenities, encompassing golf, tennis, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, saunas, steam rooms, a fitness facility, gem mining, mini-golf, and an arcade. Don't miss the opportunity to explore Lake Fairfield and the awe-inspiring Narrows Waterfall. On the property, you'll find options for outdoor activities, such as horseshoes, badminton, gold mining pans, croquet, and golf clubs, all available for your use in the 'Man Cave'. Board games and puzzles are thoughtfully stashed in the great room cabinets for those who prefer more leisurely pastimes.

And yet, there is more to Laurel Hill than meets the eye. A short walk or car ride brings you to Hidden Falls, an enchanting feature of the 24-acre estate. Follow the gravel driveway through the imposing rock pillar gates, and park at the campsite, where you can create cherished memories with your loved ones by sharing S'mores and engaging in captivating ghost stories under the starry night sky. During the day, explore the well-marked private trails leading to Eric and Heather Falls, aptly named after the owner's children, who grew up here catching crawdads and salamanders and embarking on adventures in bear caves and along rugged rock ledges.

Discover the ultimate retreat during your stay at Laurel Hill. We are confident that you will find this experience worth returning to time and time again.

Beautiful view and house
This is an amazing property. We found that the house had so much room for our party of 8. They literally had every.single.thing we needed to cook each night for our large group. We especially appreciated the chef knives and high end appliances. We were close to so much! We hiked many waterfalls only 10-25 min.away, easily were able to get groceries at Ingles, and enjoyed the breweries nearby. The hot tub on deck, along with the view, was a highlight! The only feedback we have for the owners would be to clear out some dresser space for guests (most drawers were full of personal items), provide chairs for the fire pit, and please treat for the wasps and carpenter bees. They were excessive, but it might just be the time of year we were there. (Early spring) Despite those small issues, we would definitely return to visit our brevard student! We loved our time at Laurel Hills.
