Staying at this home was the best VRBO experience we’ve ever had. Not only is the home high quality and beautiful, the owners provide top notch support. Our favorite features are too many to list but include a beautifully kept front & backyard with multiple lounge areas, an enormous and well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, high speed WiFi and lots of privacy. Beyond that, the home is in a pristine neighborhood with friendly neighbors. This rental and its owners are beyond five stars!!!

Lovely, comfortable home

Location and amenities are perfect. Well maintained home with quality furnishings, super kitchen and a lovely fenced yard. This was our second stay here and we love both the home and the area. Great neighborhood for walking - you'll get your cardio on the hills!

Beautiful home in SW Austin

I stayed her for a month while looking at homes in Austin for a potential transfer. Al and Patty have a beautiful home and lovely patio and backyard. The home is exactly as described and even more beautiful than the photos show. Al and Patty were very attentive and easy to work with. The home is close to downtown and many shopping areas. Lake Vista is a mere 15-20 minute drive and Wimberly and Fredericksburg are a little further west. My two standard poodles loved the yard and the patio. The gas fire pit on the patio was a big hit in the evening to have a glass of wine and kick up your feet. The neighborhood is very nice and quiet.

Such an awesome place to stay while we were renovating

All the amenities you could want/need in a neighborhood centrally located to everything you could dream of doing in and around Austin. Easy communication with property owner is super nice too.

Terrible storm, wonderful house!

2021 was our third year in a row spending January-February in this house, so we knew how wonderful and comfortable it was for enjoying the Austin scene. What we didn’t know was that Austin was going to have the worst storm of the past 50+ years and we would be stranded in the house for more than a week in February. And while it was awful to have ice-covered roads, sidewalks and trees, the house never lost power or heat and the gas fireplace added a special glow to those cold, snowy days. The owners stayed in constant communication with us, making sure we were safe and providing suggestions on surviving the polar blast. And the neighbors offered assistance and information in dealing with the weather and the lack of tap water for five days. (With the home's water dispenser we never lacked clean drinking water.) With a pandemic and two snowstorms, 2021 was not a great year to be in Austin, but this house is always a great place to settle in, no matter what’s going on.

Relaxing Location/Perfect House

I escaped NY/NJ in search of a place to relax, unwind and continue to work remotely for 30 days. I had daily walks with my dog (the hills give you a workout for sure), the neighborhood was gorgeous, the neighbors that I met were so kind. The house was immaculate. I met the owners, who reached out periodically to ensure I had everything I needed. I would definitely rent here again. There isn’t a single negative thing to add. Loved it.

Even better than it looks

We've hesitated to write this review because we'd like to keep this place as our secret. We spent two months at Al and Patty's home this winter and couldn't have asked for more. The house is spacious and wonderfully designed with privacy for all the bedrooms. The kitchen is perfectly equipped. Furnishings are lovely and good quality. It's obvious this is a home and not just a rental property. The location is excellent both for access to downtown Austin and for heading west into the hill country. Al and Patty were great hosts, clearing closet space for us as well as space in the refrigerator and freezer. We stayed in touch with them throughout our stay and feel like we've made new friends. We plan to be back.

Perfect home away from home

This home was really wonderful. Quiet neighbourhood, very comfortable home which we settled into right away. It is immaculately clean and has everything you could possible need as a family. We stayed for a month while looking for a home in Austin and it was a welcome retreat during a busy time. The hosts Al and Patty couldn't have done more and were very helpful and kind. Beautiful home! Perfect for our stay!

We needed a place to stay for a month in Austin while house hunting. This was the perfect place for us and our children! The house was beautiful and sparkling clean and the owners could not have been more kind, gracious and helpful. Would definitely recommend this home!!

Excellent stay.

This is a beautiful house, well taken care of and located in a very convenient and quiet community. We enjoyed our stay and wish we could have stayed longer but it was already rented for the next two months. The house had all of the amenities and furnishings to make this stay just like living in your own home. Al and Patty were most gracious and generous hosts. We would definitely recommend this house to anyone looking for a rental home.

Wonderful place to stay - highly recommend!

Short version : Al and Patty's house was beautiful and I cannot recommend it highly enough. It's even nicer in person, and it truly made our first three months in Austin wonderful! Long version : Al and Patty were wonderful hosts, and their home is a wonderful place to stay. My husband and I moved to Austin, and we wanted an easy transition, so we used HomeAway for 3 months while we looked for a more permanent place. Communication - Al was very easy to get a hold of both before and during our stay. It was our first time using HomeAway or anything like it, so we were nervous about the process. But Al graciously met with us when we were in town a few months before we moved and showed us his place. We sat and talked for a bit and decided it was the perfect place for us! If we had any minor problems while we were there, Al was quick to respond to any phone call, text, or email. Neighborhood/Location - The neighborhood is nice and quiet, and the homes around it are all beautiful. You are a quick 15 min drive to downtown, and even closer to Zilker Park and Barton Springs. There are a lot of nice restaurants around, or if you prefer a more "Texas" feel, just a few minutes from the Rusty Mule or Jester King. And it doesn't hurt to be a 10 minute drive to Salt Lick! Home - The inside of Al's place is super nice. You can tell it is their main residence from how well kept up it is, its not just a rental to them. The kitchen is well stocked, the bedrooms are generous sized, and every room is beautifully decorated. The walk in shower is fantastic, and my husband enjoyed the large TV. Backyard - the lot is big! Our little dog loved running around, and it is a beautiful place to enjoy the beautiful weather. There is a BBQ to enjoy, or you can just enjoy your morning coffee in the fresh air. Final thoughts - We stayed at Al's for 3 months and it was a wonderful transition to Austin. It truly felt like home and we wish we could have stayed longer!
