This charming bungalow has become a special tradition for our family. We’ve stayed here three years in a row, and it truly feels like a home away from home. The house is beautifully decorated for Christmas, filled with lovely antiques, and has such a cozy, welcoming feel. Every detail is thoughtful, and the space is both comfortable and inviting.Our stay was absolutely perfect, and we look forward to returning again in the future. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Winterset — this place is a gem.

Comfortable and a great place for friends to be together

This was our fourth stay at the Bungalow and we really enjoyed it. It was a great place for our group to eat together after a day of working on quilts and other creative endeavors. It was very clean and had most everything we needed. The beds were comfortable and the location was quiet. Our hosts are always responsive to our suggestions and questions.

Halfway meeting place

This home was perfect for meeting a friend that I had not seen for a long time. It is in a perfect location and Winterset has so much to offer. Thank you for your hospitality.

BEAUTIFUL HOME

What a beautiful home. It was even better than we could have hoped for. We immediately felt at home. Two grandsons, 7 & 4, loved the play area and toys for all ages.

Great bungalow!

We were in town for my nephews wedding. We all love fairly close to Winterset but staying in this house in Winterset made it so much to get done what we needed to get done for the weekend. Great house with lots of charm and a great front porch! My family and I enjoyed it very much. Highly recommend!

Perfect Trip

The Bungalow is a quaint, authentic little home which sits just a few blocks from downtown Winterset -- central to everything. Our host, Heather, was very responsive and helpful. House was very clean and uncluttered. Loved the books about the area as well as the Covered Bridges. I was able to finish the sequel book to Covered Bridges called "A Thousand Country Roads" -- didn't even know it existed -- while I was there for 3 nights and 4 days. If for some reason, we would be in the Winterset area again, I would absolutely try to book the Bugalow.

Bungalow was perfect fit!

What amazing experience staying at the bungalow was. It was great for our family. We were attending a funeral at the veterans cemetery and it was convenient for us. It was my mom myself and husband and my sister and her husband. All the rooms were beautifully decorated and felt like a home away from home❤️

Absolutely Perfect

We stayed for 3 days in this beautiful home. The host are great. It was immaculately clean. Beautiful high end updates, but still maintain the character of this great bungalow. Only thing I would add, would be some comfy cushions for the chairs on the front porch. We will definitely plan another trip for the spring.

Great spot in Winterset

We had an absolutely wonderful time staying at this property in Winterset, Iowa! The house was not only clean and comfortable but also full of charm and character that made us feel right at home. The location is perfect, close enough to explore the town’s historic landmarks, including the covered bridges and the John Wayne Birthplace Museum. The home had all the amenities we needed for a relaxing stay, including a fully equipped kitchen, cozy living space, and comfortable beds. We particularly loved spending time on the porch in the evenings, soaking in the quiet surroundings. The Bungalow was great!! Had everything we needed and felt homey and welcoming! The weather was not great, but it didn’t keep us from taking in the historic downtown area that was filled with great little shops and restaurants! It was our favorite girls trip despite the unusual cold, wet weather!

This was a great house for 4 of us. We've stayed in many VRBO's, and this was one of the best. It was clean and well equipped. It had a wonderful coffee bar set up and ready to go. We sat out on the porch and watched it rain.
