Not as Represented. Sadly dirty and Uncared for.

When we arrived we were very upset to see the terrible shape the property was in. The brick BBQ and outside dinning furniture were unusable and there was garbage and discarded junk everywhere. The inside was dirty. The fridge was clean as was the broken microwave. The oven was dirty. The kitchen is well equipped and the dishes were clean. The top of cupboards, ceiling fans and vents were coated in webs of dust and dirt. The bedding on the beds was clean thank goodness, but closets were full of unusable junk. The BBQ was filthy and didn't run properly. We had our own. The canoe had a broken seat and the kayaks were not in good shape. We didn't use them. There is no sandy walk in....there is a retaining wall with fencing and there is a build up of seaweed along the shore where potentially you could go in. We booked day passes at Balsam Lake Provincial park and used their beautiful beach. When we communicated these things to the owner, he was silent. There was no "instructions book" so you could access the WIFI or know how to manage garbage etc. which, it turns out...you must take with you and pay to take to the dump. The owner did provide the password via text after we asked. The backyard view of Canal Lake and loons singing were by far the best thing about this cottage. We set up chairs that we cleaned for our use on the cement pad by the water and had our coffee etc. there. We spent our days away in the Provincial Park. We do not recommend.
