Douglas Hughes is an excellent owner-host.
He also has an exceptional staff.
The hotel is exquisite. Great location too.
Great boutique hotel in Granada. The owner, Doug, was very welcoming. The location is perfect as it is right next to the city center. The service was very attentive. Will stay here again when back in Granada.
From the minute we walked thru the doors of Casa Xanadu we felt welcomed and we could immediately tell this was going to be a great place to stay! The housekeepers and the cooks were awesome and our breakfast was superb! The courtyard pool area was simply gorgeous with attention to great detail in making the guests feel special, including the music and lighting!!! We fortunately got to meet the owner, Doug and his family and Doug was so full of knowledge of the Nicaraguan way of life and his love of his Casa Xanadu came out with every word he spoke of the beautiful mansion! The suites were each different and he let us see them all and we were amazed with the 25 foot peaked ceilings and the décor in each room was beautiful. Could not have been happier with our visit to Casa Xanadu and we will recommend this jewel to anyone we know that is going to be visiting Granada! Thank you Doug and family and staff, you are all PRICELESS!!!

The place was very clean, the staff attentive , Doug the owner was very nice and helpful, perfect location for walking anywhere in the Central Park area. And the rooms were beautiful, AC and WiFi worked great. A home cooked breakfast each day starting with fresh fruit. I couldn’t have been happier with the accommodations. The pool clean and warm.
The amenities the resort lists were not there at all. There was no one for front desk service and the pool looked like it hadn’t been cleaned for months. The pool bar never had a bartender and the room that was supposed to have a terrace had a window overlooking the dirty pool. The o my good thing about the stay was the kitchen breakfast staff who would accommodate to the breakfast of your choice and even made a traditional breakfast one morning.
This hotel was a beautiful Spanish Colonial building, with huge rooms beautifully appointed. The pool area was lovely and comfortable and the staff went out of their way to provide a friendly and helpful service. Norwin the manager provided extra services for us and Judith was always available with a friendly smile. We were sad to leave this hotel.
Casa Xanadu was wonderful! The staff was amazing. They were always right there ready to accommodate our every need. They prepared us fresh breakfast every morning. I recommend staying here.
Excellent all-round experience...Very clean and well-maintained hotel, we stayed five days. Friendly and courteous staff. Will come back again in summer.
We had a great stay. Very clean and comfortable. Norwin was a great host and very helpful. Great area. Close to great restaurants. Great breakfast. Highly recommended.
Very nice property. Beautiful room. I want to recommend Pedro *our driver recommended at the hotel( who was so nice and gave us an exceptional service. 100% recommended if you wish to know the area, he is the perfect person for it!
I usually rent Airbnb places when I travel, but this Casa looked good on line and it had a breakfast. It turned out to be a better Airbnb than most Airbnb places I have used all around the world. It is truly a Casa....a home. There are 6 (I think?) two room suites opening up on a pleasant common area that leads to a kitchen dining area and pool.
We traveled Nicaragua with 2 younger children. Norwen and his staff made our stay in Granada a truly great experience.
Everyone was very helpful and attended to any needs or requests we had.
Our children loved the pool and were very sad to leave.
Most of the other guests were regulars to the Granada area and Casa Xanadu itself.
Great job everybody, we will definitely be staying there again next time we are in Granada
Clean room with comfortable beds to sleep for early morning airport departure or late evening arrivals. Staff was friendly and taxi was ready at 4am for ride to airport.
Norwin the manager was extremely helpful with booking excursions! Breakfast was ample, with choice of pancakes, french toast, eggs any style, ham omelettes, fruit bacon etc. Also was able to Have breakfast at an earlier time when we had to leave early. Family Room was comfortable and huge! Would definitely stay here again! Highly recommend!
