In case you are looking for a ski resort that allows you to access in front of your door - this is it. Also great for families. Lots of international tourists, and offerings, thus, not very authentic French experience. Rather dated, and bit noisy.

Pool lovely - not the one advertised on booking photos.
Lovely chalet room - again not what I was expecting when booking.
Check in wasn't clear as was in a completely different building.
Good location and great room but not what I was expecting when booking.

24h reception desk turned out extremely important for us, as we booked into here last-minute when our original booking in a different ski resort fell through at the last minute, and we arrived here in the small hours of the morning!

The apartment was clean, we had earlier check in than scheduled as the apartment was ready early.
Wrist bands to unlock the door was very handy.
Great location next to the supermarket and lifts.
Apartment was very quiet, excellent size with large balcony with a perfect view to the slope watching people skiing into the resort.

The room was comfortable and had all the amenities needed to relax after a day skiing. The sofa bed was comfortable and easy to get out and put away. The bathroom was basic, but provided a lovely warm shower and the hotel spa facilities were good, although the outdoor pool could have been a bit warmer.
The village has some great restaurants and bars, if a little light on entertainment spaces, but a short lift ride up to 2000 provided more of this if needed. It was also great to visit some of the on-piste bars and restaurants for some mid ski refreshment.

The room was lovely and the mountain views from the rooms was amazing.
Sadly check-in was difficult, as there is no central reception (at arc 1950) or anyone to meet guests, so we had to wander around in sub zero temperatures to find a different residence's reception to point us in the right direction.

Im sorry to say that this hotel isnt as advertised. It is advertised as "luxury" with multiple indoor and outdoor pools, but you cant actually use them!
The building is very old and tired, and far from the "luxury" hotel they portray. I booked this hotel specifically for a stay with my son as he loves to swim, yet once we had been allocated a room in the Refuge du Montagnard building we discovered we couldnt access the pools clearly advertised on the website.
When i questioned this with reception we were told that its not possible. Ignore the pictures on the advert as they arent accurate for what you actually get.
The hotel had a srong smell of sewage and drains, which wasnt pleasant.
The location is very good, but sadly we wouldnt return.

We booked this hotel mainly for the pool and spa, but only found out on our second day — after asking at reception — that the pool was closed for our entire stay. It was a rainy day with little to do in the area, so we had to drive 30 minutes to another village just to find a pool.
None of this was mentioned at booking or check-in, which was really frustrating. If we’d known, we might have planned differently or stayed elsewhere. Make sure to double-check with the hotel before booking.
Pros:
1. 10 Steps from the bakery ( very easy breakfast )
2. 5 Steps to the grocery store - The food in the village gets a bit old due to lack of variety. Grocery trip was essential.
3. Very easy to park (we booked one week with one park parking garage under Arc 1950. They had our name on a list and told us what level to park on. We then could take the elevator right up to reception. This is fantastic if the weather is unfavorable.)
4. Complimentary Laundry room ( Bring your own soap. There was 1 Washer / 3 Dryers. Drying strings in both showers)
Cons:
1. The kitchen well appointed with mini appliances. There were a few cooking utensils missing but overall good. (spatula)
2. 4 teas and 2 coffee pods provided, would have been nice to have more in the room given we were booked for 6 days.
3. Mid week fresh towels would have been nice. We just used the same towels, but this would have been a nice perk.
4. The beautiful cave looking pool was in a building at the other end of the village - in a spa. This was not available to us unless you paid for kids / adult entry or had a spa appointment. The hot tub outside reception was not warm and then the net day totally drained and had cover on. We saw no one use the pool.

Please be aware that the information and images on Expedia for this accommodation shows images of all the facilities across about 5/6 different properties. You won’t know which one you’re booked into unless you message directly and if you don’t do this you won’t know which reception to go to (there are two in the village). This is basically false advertising as you look at the images but won’t be able to access those facilities, for example the indoor pool is in one specific building. Pros- staff communication excellent and very helpful, they were great. The location is brilliant for ski in and ski out & we found where we stayed (Manoir Savoie) really peaceful. The room was well equipped, beds and bedding clean and comfortable and great self catering facilities. It was great for our stay. Cons - definitely not 5 star. Communal areas / halls scuffed, carpets dirty and stained, there were some weird smells on some floors, outdoor pool v cold (I would expect this though as it’s -10) basically this place needs renovating. Balconies are also closed at the moment.
All that said we had a brilliant time in Les Arcs 1950! Super cute village, perfect for families. Everyone was so friendly (which isn’t always the case when you’re English in a French resort!) Bakery was so yum and also the supermarket stocked some delicious food. The skiing was absolutely great! Fresh snow the day we arrived.

We were given an apartment on the ground floor next to the lift and the entrance the to property. The spa facilities were extremely smelly and unusable, nor did they work on several days. We've stayed in several PV Premier properties over many years and this is definitely not the same standard, even though it was more expensive. We weren't happy with this at all and wouldn't be staying here again! The lady we spoke to on Reception also said that we would get less because we had booked with Expedia, which is appalling.
