Great stay, although the twin beds were single size and little bit short. My husband's bed dipped in the middle. Your website didn't mention dogs can stay. We could have brought our dog on the trip. Lovely setting. Would stay there again.

Not great - dissapointing

This hotel relies heavily on its location and resort style layout to make it an appealing place to stay and whilst this is really great the rest is a let down. At nearly $200 per night, it was a disappointment. The overall condition of the interior is very dated. The beds are old and have seen better days, the shower was a pathetic drizzle that hardly gets you wet and every dish we used we had to wash first as it was grubby from the previous guests use. Also there is no sky tv at all and the Freeview channels consisted of a grand total of 4 ! WiFi is also practically non existent. Just pathetic for a hotel with a supposedly 4 star rating. We had the spa room, which whilst lovely to enjoy, once you fill it to the minimum required to operate the jets, you have no hot water left for anything else. The list goes on with silly little laminated signs telling you what you can’t do and can’t use. This property is under new management and whilst they do supply a friendly and helpful manner when checking in (although tried to put the price up even though already booked online) the hotels condition and out of date facilities let’s it down. Would not stay again until it had an upgrade. Not worth the money charged and definitely not a 4 star property.

Good Spot

Older unit in good general condition. Modern TV and heat pump so nice and warm. Great location amazingly quiet considering it's in the centre of town. Friendly managers with good local knowledge.

My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed this trip; the chalets were perfect and packed with everything we needed. In walking distance (less than 2 minutes) to the beach, cafes and a restaurant - grabbed a few drinks from the store down the road (walked there too) came back to our chalet and had a couple of drinks on the deck. Nice and quiet, shower pressure was perfect, only down fall was that the room was hot when we got in as none of the windows were left open and no fan - if it had a pedestal fan it would've been perfect.

Great motel for family stay. Only 1 disapointment was when our family had been out all day at the beach and came back to have a shower our water went cold after 2 minutes. We were told we had to wait until the hot water cylinder to warm the water up. Not a good alternative when you have a 3 year old.

Nice place

We really enjoyed our stay. Friendly check in and out. Nice relaxing lodges next to the harbour. Swimming isnt really an option but you can hunt around for crabs or walk in the water. Next to the main street shops...though not many of them...but thats the nice thing about Tairua...its quiet. Relax :)
