Excellent stay on a one night business trip, all the facilities I needed and held a meeting there, room was clean and comfortable. Would use it again when next in the area.
Such a warm welcome by all staff who made every effort to make sure that we had everything we needed. Fantastic value for money. The room made a difference from the generic norm, very homely.
The team, I found to be superb, friendly, professional, and made my stay very enjoyable. My room was basic, but perfectly comfortable and clean, and the food was excellent.
Thoroughly recommended.
We arrived late on to be welcomed by a friendly receptionist, the staff was very helpful in every way, Caroline was so lovely to each and every guest couldnt do enough for you. Bedroom and bathroom clean and warm, bed comfy with clean laundry would definitely go back. Food was at good high standards
The food was absolutely amazing.
Couple of minor points
Breakfast service would benefit from another toaster.
There was no door on the toilet/bathroom.

Clean room and Nice showe. But the quality of the bed is not enough
The place was great, the room was lovely, the bar and restaurant were ok but seriously lacked atmosphere - even a bit of background music
The restaurant was badly furnished and badly laid out and the lighting was too bright
It's a comfortable small hotel in a characterful building with some modern extensions. The rooms are very modern and quite stylish - huge bathroom in mine. Quite a lot of steps everywhere is the only real downside. (They do have some ground level rooms I noticed). Aynho is a pretty village - not much around but in many ways that's the appeal. Plenty of parking space in an interior courtyard. Very good pub food.

Disliked: Cleanliness
This was a quaint hotel with friendly staff and a comfortable bed. However, the cleaning staff should pay better attention to cleaning. For example, cobwebs all over the ceiling in our room and also in the hallway leading into the kitchen area, the doorways should be wiped down, the carpeting in the rooms and hallways need a good cleaning and vacuming, the walls need a good wipe down in the hallways and in the bedroom. If the property was cleaned properly it would be a much higher rating from us.
Arrived to find the car park was full. No one at reception. Was eventually greeted by a friendly lady who directed us to park at the church - which we couldn’t find in the dark. Room 9 was in a bad state of disrepair. Don’t think I’ve ever seen tiles held on with sellotape before. Terrible noise from the creaking floorboards in the rooms above. No airco.

Sans charme
Hotel sans charme même si le village est joli. On sent que tout est fait au minimum. Je ne connais pas les choix de la région mais pensez plutôt que vous arrivez dans un Ibis camouflé dans un joli immeuble de village.

Lovely!
Very nice place in a little local village, a lovely
warm welcome from the lady in reception, we stayed in room 17 in the courtyard, the room was spacious with two arm chairs, and a lovely comfy bed! I would say that these rooms need a little refresh. As in new bedside furniture, lamps, curtains etc, the food in the restaurant was very nice, and the service was great too. That apricot compote that everyone raves about in reviews was absolutely lovely! There was So much choice at breakfast! All in all a gregreat place with just a few tweeks needed xx
