This smoke-free cottage features a restaurant, a bar/lounge and a coffee shop/cafe. Free breakfast (local cuisine), free WiFi in public areas and free self parking are also provided. Additionally, spa services, a meeting room and laundry facilities are on-site. All 11 soundproofed accommodations feature DVD players and room service. Kitchenettes come with fridges and stovetops, and guests will also find upscale touches, such as indoor private hot tubs and fireplaces. Limited housekeeping is available.
Secrets on the Lake offers 11 air-conditioned accommodations with indoor private hot tubs and fireplaces. Rooms open to furnished balconies. Each accommodation is individually furnished and decorated. Accommodation at this 4-star cottage has kitchenettes with fridges, stovetops, microwaves and kitchenware and utensils.

The location, views and decor of the treehouses are stunning. "The nest" is advertised as a 3-bedroom treehouse which is suitable for families. I booked for 2 nights for my husband, our tween daughter and I with the plan that we would not be using the double bed in the open plan lounge area. I specifically called reception to confirm that there were two proper bedrooms with doors. However, when we checked in, I was disappointed to see that the master bedroom with the ensuite is more like a granny flat under the main area with its own main door and separate key. To get to it, one needs to exit the main door to the outside, go downstairs and essentially enter a separate apartment downstairs comprising of a bedroom, bathroom and laundry. This would be ideal for another couple. However, it is not ideal for families with children. We ended up using the double bed in the open plan living area instead. This bed in the living area has no privacy and is bathed in light by 5am since most windows do not have blinds. Overall, this treehouse needs some maintenance and should be dusted well before guests arrive. We worried because when hot water is switched on, a strong smell of gas is released in the patio. This is particularly noticeable when filling the spa or when turning the spa heating on. We reported this, but maintenance told us that it is because the system is old. This is concerning.

I’m disappointed that my parents were charged for another rooms drinks and we had to wait for our bbq pack to arrive as reception believed it was for another room. This was unacceptable when secrets prides themselves on being up class accommodation.

A forest stay

Our accommodation was in a converted old railway station relocated to site. The location was fantastic. Rainforest all around with a lovely lawn area at the front. It was very private and quite, just the birds in the forest. The shower and toilet were a bit cramped but otherwise it was perfect.

Extremely Satisfied

What a gem of a place! We stayed in the Whistlestop cottage. It was lovely. Well appointed and spacious and a logfire was burning on our arrival - it can get a bit chilly in the rainforest at night. On Mondays the restaurant is closed but no problem as a preselected BBQ hamper was delivered to the cottage at about 6pm which we cooked this on the “barbie” area with a spa bath set up a path at the back of the cottage. It was a heavenly spot and was lovely to sit on the verandah afterwards for an after dinner glass of wine before retiring! It is a beautiful part of the world set in the rainforest and you feel as if you are the only people around. Very peaceful. This is highly recommended and we will definitely go back and were only sad that we stayed one night. We had a stroll around the rest of the property and down to the lake the next morning as we checked out . Incredibly beautiful place.

Perfect for romantic weekend or honeymoon

We spent 3 days here to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. We couldn’t have picked a better place, it was paradise. The treehouses are beautiful, we felt as though there was no one else around. The lake is warm and great for kayaking and swimming. The nearest trail is a few hundred metres from the entrance. We will definitely stay here again.

Serenity at its best.

Secrets on the lake..... Well where to start. To sum it up in one word.... Amazing. The views are magnificent with each cabin overlooking the lake, which can also be enjoyed by going for a paddle in one of the canoe 's. We stayed in ' The Bower' each cabin has its own name. The carvings and the structural design of the cabins have obviously been created and crafted out of pure passion. My hat goes off to you all at sects on the lake. Thank you so much, we found it very difficult to leave. Montville village and it's surrounds is a must see.
