Good base for Finger Lakes
This apartment was a good base to spend a few days for us to explorie the wider Finger Lakes region. This included Watkins Glen and Robert H. Treman State Parks, Cornell Botanic Gardens, Corning Museum of Glass and a couple of winery visits. You need a car to get to shops, etc., and we would recommend the nearby Gimme Coffee in Hanshaw Road and we wish we had discovered the more distant GreenStar Food Co+op in Cascadilla St a bit earlier (the nearby TOPS supermarket wasn't particularly good).
While our very first impression of the basement apartment was not necessarily quite what we expected, we soon discovered that it was a comfortable, spacious and well-equipped. There was a good internet connection and TV with some streaming options, a well-equipped kitchen (including a complimentary bottle of wine) and a washing machine and dryer that was useful by the third week of our holiday. The PIN code entry worked well and was easier than dealing with a key.
The bed was very comfortable, but one side was against the wall which was a bit inconvenient - a slight repositioning with a side-table and lamp on both sides would be great.
We would recommend this apartment as a good place to stay while visiting the area.
