We wanted to spend some time on Oahu but not in the bustle of Waikiki. This is certainly the spot for it. Right on the beach with far less people than Waikiki with swimming and snorkeling just off the beach. The next bay around has an area known as turtle rock and we frequently saw turtles in the water. You can do as little or as much as you want, either take a book to the beach and sit in the sun until the amazing sunset occurs or pack your walking shoes and drive the along the road until you can't and there are amazing walks. The drive along the coast is beautiful. Just two things, as the owner says, go to the supermarket before you check in. Also there is a connecting door which does increase the noise when there are people next door. If you want to escape the rat race, this is the place for you.

Comfortable and clean, Mary’s Makaha condo was a pleasure to stay in. Fully resourced with all the comforts of home. Mary was very responsive to all my communications. Great service from the security team in the front lobby. But of course the reason this place rises so far above the rest is….THAT VIEW! Those sunsets. The beach in front (a short walk past the rocky shore) is a beautiful sandy, perfect spot to spend the whole day, in and out of the water. We loved the location and area, felt perfectly safe from our early morning walks to our late night returns from dinner at the Beach House (highly recommended, a 5 min drive down the road) Love Mary’s place, definitely recommended, hope to be back one day.
