Ideally situated for making day trips to discover the Ring of Kerry. Visit Dingle and see 'Fungi' the dolphin. Kells bay 'blue flag' beach is within walking distance from the house and is ideally suited for swimming etc. Hill walking, fishing trips, cycling, horse riding, water sports and eco tours are all available locally. The area boasts some world renowned golf courses in nearby Waterville, Dooks, Killarney and Ballybunnion.
The house is faced with local natural stone helping the property to blend into its setting seamlessly. The spacious ground floor is a welcoming open plan design, featuring an eye-catching solid fuel stove. Snuggle into the inviting couch next to the stove, read a book, watch Netflix on the 55" smart TV or just gaze at the mountain side or the wild Atlantic Ocean! Fully equipped kitchen - large fridge freezer unit, dishwasher, gas hob, oven, microwave, washing machine and dryer etc.
The property contains 4 bedrooms upstairs with dramatic sea and mountain views. Snuggle up in the luxurious superking size bed in the master bedroom, which also contains a walk-in wardrobe as well as an en-suite bathroom with shower. Two further spacious bedrooms boast comfortable king size beds with each containing an en-suite c/w shower. The final bedroom is tastefully decorated and contains two double beds. The master upstairs bathroom contains a spacious shower and a stylish large bath.
The property is heated by means of a zoned underfloor heating system which is economical and efficient keeping you warm and snug in the colder winter months.
The area is part of the internationally recognised 'Kerry Dark Sky Reserve' without any light pollution where on clear moonless nights the sky is filled with millions of stars and other astronomical sights to be seen with the naked eye.
Make this space your base for your Kerry adventure in this spectacular and unspoilt region of Ireland.
Kells Bay is an old picturesque fishing village situated halfway between Glenbeigh and Cahersiveen. It is a quiet and peaceful place undisturbed by recent developments and is home to Kells Beach, one of Kerry's Blue Flag beaches. The beach contains many rock pools to explore, fascinating for children.
There are beautiful views of Dingle bay and the Blasket Islands from this region. To get the best views you need to head to an area close by called "mountain stage". From here with the mountains as a backdrop (old railway tunnels run through the mountain from a bye gone era) you can get great views, weather permitting, of the coastline . The beautifully engineered "Gleesk Viaduct" (an old railway bridge) built in 1892 can also be seen from here.
If you are into hill walking then a stage of the "Kerry Way" passes here, an ideal days activity. Also in the area you will find Kells Bay Gardens. An old Victorian Garden containing one of the foremost collections of Southern Hemisphere sub-tropical plants in Europe, assembled from Australia originally but more recently from New Zealand and South America.
Close by is Kells Bay House and Gardens with almost 18 hectares of sub tropical planting and forest. There are over 3 km of walks in the various different areas of the Gardens, with a picturesque waterfall at the garden entrance. Well worth a visit and also has a coffee shop and Thai Restaurant, perfect for lunch or dinner.
