About this property
Chapel Cottage: Beautiful pet friendly family home within short walk to beach
This recently refurbished (2018) pet friendly home, is in an ideal location on a quiet road close to the beach at Southbourne. The house has recently had a total makeover and boasts 3 double bedrooms, a family bathroom, a beautiful open planned lounge with TV snug, kitchen and dining area, and good sized secure garden with patio and bbq areas.
Access to dog and BBQ friendly (see local restrictions) Southbourne Beach is 5-10mins walk (depending how much stuff you are carrying!) - a relatively quiet beach compared to further along the coast at Boscombe or Bournemouth, but all the more beautiful for it, with views on a clear day in one direction to the Isle of Wight, and in the other beyond Poole to Swanage and the Purbeck Hills.
The local nature reserve of Hengistbury Head with its cafe and visitor centre is a 10-15 min walk from the property, as is the nearest pub restaurant, the recently refurbished Riverside Inn which sits on the River Stour at Tuckton Bridge. The central amenities of Christchurch itself are a 15 - 20 min walk or 5-10 min drive, with its artisanal cafes, bars, supermarkets, and local shops. Bournemouth is a good 4-5 miles along the promenade for a lovely walk, or is easily accessible via car or public transport - regular bus routes from Tuckton are a 5 min walk from Baring Road, and go through Southbourne Grove and Boscombe. Southbourne itself is a bustling and thriving coastal town which has plenty to offer, whether its award-winning eateries, buzzing bars or a bit of retail therapy - Southbourne has it all!
Further afield, though not much further, you have the idyllic ancient woodland and moors of the New Forest, where ponies, cattle, donkeys and deer run free! Full of lovely walks, quiet cycle lanes, lovely small towns with olde pubs, and even award winning spa's(!), the New Forest is less than 10 miles away at Bransgore, but do take more time and venture further into the area, to take in all its beauty.
Our property is pet friendly - though we would remind guests to adhere to in house rules around cleanliness and pets, using provided blankets as opposed to sitting directly on sofas. Please clean up after your pets in the garden and around the local streets!
This truly is a wonderful house in a gorgeous location - we hope you enjoy!

About the host
Hosted by Katie and Scott Hamilton

Hi, we are Scott and Katie and we live in Berkshire around 90 mins from Christchurch up the M3. We love our home by the sea and hope you do too! It is in a wonderful location - a nice quiet street but close to the beach and all amenities - and we are very happy with how our renovation project has worked out. If there is ANYTHING we can do before or during your trip to make it a wonderful experience please do let us know.
