The house was perfect for our needs. Very clean and comfortable with stunning sea views. The showers were excellent and the location in Port Patrick was ideal, close to pubs and restaurants and easy access to lovely walks.
Lovely property in a very scenic setting easily able to cope with 8 adults. Good location relative to the picturesque village, easy walking distance to shops and restaurants.
Somewhat dated in its appearance and furnishing, but nevertheless wonderfully comfortable. Period bathroom fittings worked to perfection.
Very well equipped, but an advertised barbecue disappointingly turned out to be completely rusted away.

Hi Roger, hope the golf went well and the weather held out for you.
Thank you for letting us know about the barbecue. Coastal air can be very harsh on items like this. over the winter. New barby on it's way to Southcliff House.
Hope to see you back in the future.
Best Wishes
Laura & Andrew
The listing on Vrbo doesn't do this house justice. It was much bigger and well presented than the pictures suggest which we were pleasantly surprised with.
The check on process was seamless, friendly and courteous communication from Laura and when we arrived, the house was clean and tidy. Although it is situated next to a pub/restaurant/hotel, it was quiet and at night all you could hear was the sound of the waves.
We have struggled to determine any negative with the house at all and would happily stay again. We all had a great time and would thoroughly recommend both Portpatrick and the house.
Southcliff House is magnificent, in both it's setting within Portpatrick and the rich architecture of the home. The bedrooms were all extremely spacious and comfortable, and the house supported our family of 9, which included a 16 month old. Even thought Southcliff was constructed in 1907, it is very well maintained, with modern amenities. We couldn't speak more highly of Laura (the owner). She was a pleasure to work with in preparing for our arrival, and was extremely responsive. Thank-you so much!! The town of Portpatrick is amazing, along with it's residents. Everyone was so friendly and helpful, and the local Pub's, Cafe's, and shops were outstanding and very affordable. Make time for several cliff top walks to explore all of the amazing views and walks, and don't forget about a quick trip down to The Mull of Galloway. The lighthouse and Café are absolutely worth the half-day trip. The ferry to Belfast (departs from Cairnryan) was the highlight of our week long visit. A long day, for sure, but totally worth the trip to see the Titanic Museum, Victoria Mall, Belfast City Hall, and experience the historical pubs throughout the City. Did I mention the Guinness and Smithwick's were to die for!!? The food was amazing as well. 10 out of 10 for this week long family vacation. We all had an absolutely amazing time, and we fully recommend Southcliff for large families. A truly beautiful home and location!

Not as expected.
This property did not meet our expectations. It has an excellent location and a good size for a large party but we found it was not to the standard we have come to expect based on the price asked.
We loved our stay in Southcliff House. Stunning views, big rooms, pool table, excellent kitchen, comfy beds, good terrace to sit out in. Kids and adults had plenty of room to space out. Short walk down hill to beach and town. It was ideal for us!
First time staying at Southcliff but been to Portpatrick many times before. Great house with stunning views and excellent space for all the family. Weather was great and topped of a fantastic family break. Next year booked. Thanks Laura.
Communication from VRBO was excellent. House was ideal for our family of 9. 3 grandchildren and 6 adults. Games room was very popular. Kitchen large and well equipped.

Glad you and your guest made good use of the games room. My favourite too, especially on a night in, with the wood burning stoves on. Many thanks for choosing Southcliff House for your break away in Portpartick.
Fantastic house, lots of space for party of 8 and dogs. Very clean and plenty in the kitchen for cooking (no dishwasher tabs though so maybe bring some of your own). Otherwise we all really enjoyed the stay, no complaints!
Views are amazing and plenty to do nearby including some great walks.
Recommend to friends, families and those looking for a weekend away from hustle and bustle.

Dear Katherine
Thank you for your review. Glad you enjoyed the house. I'm so sorry no dishwasher tabs were left out for you; they are usually in a box under the kitchen sink. Thank you for the prompt, I will make sure they are stocked up. Hope you return one day. Laura & Andrew

Nice House in a Quaint Harbour Town
Large house with a lots to enjoy. Cosy in cold weather, with lots of hot water and very comfortable beds. Great bathrooms.
Aspects of the house and surroundings would benefit from some TLC; the website photos show the best bits off well.
We would stay here again though.

Glad to hear you would stay again Doug and thank you for your review. As the house is very exposed to the sea, every winter the garden and external areas suffer from the sea and stormy weather. Often we have to await spring time before painting etc can be done. Hope to see you again.
Southcliff is a beautiful property in a fabulous setting overlooking the sea. As a party of 4 couples, the space was great- fully equipped to enable us to dine together & relax together in front of a wood fire. Perfectly located in Portpatrick with good pubs with food very near by. Lovely local walks on windy cliffs.
Long awaited family get together in South cliff villa, the location was perfect .
Location perfect, great sized house for our family of 6 adults and 5 kids.Laura the host was quick to answer any queries we had, altogether a great holiday home.
Had a wonderful four night stay, absolutely everything you would need is in the property. Men loved the pool table, loved the terrace and stunning views. Fabulous kitchen and amenities. Was wonderful to spend time with family after the tough last 18 months. Highly recommend, would love to return. First time in Portpatrick, just so pretty, quaint town.
Excellent home to hold our family celebration after 18 months of being apart. The house was everything we expected and more . The accommodation was perfect, beautiful bedrooms, great entertaining kitchen, stunning views out over the Irish Sea and a games room for the kids , including the big kids. Hopefully we’ll be back .
The house was fantastic and accommodated our party of 8 plus a dog with loads of space to spare. The views over the town and the sea are fantastic to wake up to.
Having been to portpatrick for day trips before we knew the area a little. With plenty of places to eat and drink plus walks from the doorstep, it really is a perfect place for a break with a larger group.
The house has been well renovated and has all the facilities needed, warm fires in the evening fully equipped kitchen. Views right across the sea from the bedrooms.
Laura was fantastic with communication and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. I would definitely recommend to anyone heading up to the area.
