About this property

Wijkiki Beach House - Cosy family home, steps from the North Sea

## Space

Large windows run along the front of the house and look out over the village meadow, so light moves through the open-plan living room, dining area and kitchen all day. It reads lived-in rather than styled, the kind of 90m² you settle into within ten minutes of arriving. When the wind comes off the sea and the sky turns grey, the fireplace takes over. Wood is not provided, so bring your own or pick some up in the village.

Both floors have air conditioning. The units work in reverse as well, so they cool the house through the warm weeks and add extra warmth in winter on top of the central heating.

The kitchen is built for people who actually cook: two combi-ovens, a large stove with a wok burner, a dishwasher, and enough counter space to put a real meal together after a day on the beach.

Upstairs are two bedrooms, both looking out over the meadow. The main bedroom has a double bed of 180x200 and the second has two single beds of 80x200. The bathroom on the same floor has a shower and a bath, and there is a separate toilet. The staircase is steep and open, the way it tends to be in a Dutch village house, with stair gates fitted.

Families can arrive light. Two travel cots, a Stokke high chair, a changing table, socket covers, toys and children's books are all in the house. Out front there is a small garden, and behind the house a shared garden, which is also where the private entrance and the keybox are.

Dogs are welcome in the kitchen and living area downstairs. We ask that they stay out of the upstairs bedrooms and are not left alone in the house.

## Access

This house is entirely yours during your stay, apart from the back garden and the laundry room, which are shared with the cottage behind.

➤ This suits families, couples and small groups who want a quiet base near the sea. It is a residential street with neighbours close by, so parties and loud gatherings are not possible here. The staircase is steep and open, worth knowing if anyone in your group is unsteady on stairs.
➤ Dogs are welcome downstairs, not to be left alone in the house and not in the upstairs bedrooms. Smoking is not allowed indoors.

We speak all major European languages and are available 7 days a week between 09:00 and 23:00 to personally assist you throughout your stay.

## Neighborhood

Wijk aan Zee is a North Sea village that has stayed itself: low houses, a wide dune belt, and one of the broadest beaches on the Dutch coast. It draws walkers, cyclists, kite surfers and families, and the beach pavilions stay open well into the autumn. Out of season it is quiet enough to hear the sea from the dunes.

The house sits on the eastern edge of the village. The SPAR on Verlengde Voorstraat is a few minutes on foot, and Julianaplein, with Restaurant Klein Zwitserland, is about eight minutes away. The beach is roughly a fifteen-minute walk straight through the village, with Het Strandhuis and Beach Club Zuid at the bottom of the dune path. For a longer walk, the Noordhollands Duinreservaat starts on the other side of the village, where the Scottish Highlanders grazing in the dunes are usually easy to find.

## Transit

Schiphol Airport is a twenty-minute drive. Free parking is available in the street and around the meadow. By public transport, take the train to Beverwijk station, then bus 75 or 78 towards Wijk aan Zee. Get off at Julianaweg, a five-minute walk from the house. From Amsterdam the full journey takes around eighty minutes.

🚗 Schiphol Airport: 20 min by car
🚆 Amsterdam Centraal: 80 min by public transport
🚌 Bus 75 or 78 from Beverwijk station
