About this property
Reach Out and Touch Barbados
We invite you to savour the hospitality of Rio Santo Residences, a charming, typically Barbados stone property, designed with striking hardwood balustrades on its patios and verandahs. Nestled in a quiet cul de sac, it is undoubtedly an ideal retreat from the daily hustle and bustle.
We offer a well-appointed traditional three-bedroom house and two adjoining modern one-bedroom apartments, all on a self-catering basis.
In this three-bedroom ground floor house, you will enjoy the convenience of a large patio and wet bar; a living room, cooled by ceiling fan, that seats six comfortably; a separate entertainment area with TV, radio/stereo facilities; a kitchen fully-outfitted with large refrigerator; four-burner stove; microwave oven; toaster; kettle; pots and pans; crockery; cutlery, etc., and a laundry room equipped with washer and dryer.
You will be able to sleep six persons in the air-conditioned bedrooms and an additional two persons on the sofa-bed, if required. Two bathrooms complete this very desirable villa.
Rio Santo Residences is advantageously located close to the famous St. Lawrence Gap in Barbados, and across the street from a white sandy beach, washed by the crystal clear turquoise waters of the Caribbean sea. Mere yards away is the popular Rockley Beach.
Nearby, within walking distance, are supermarkets, banks, medical offices, pharmacy, shops, hotels, restaurants, bars and nightclubs. The area is heavily trafficked, well-lighted and safe for walking.
As the property is virtually on the bus transportation route, a car is not essential but most people elect to have one, especially for sight-seeing and travel to venues outside the immediate vicinity. For those preferring not to drive themselves, taxi service is readily available.
Within ten minutes by car are the Rockley Golf Club, the National Tennis Centre, the Garrison Historic Area (including the headquarters of the Barbados Defense Force and the Garrison Savannah horse racing track), and the Museum and Historical Society. It is about 15 minutes to the capital city Bridgetown and 20 minutes to the Grantley Adams International Airport. UNESCO designated Bridgetown and the Garrison Historic Area as an international heritage site.
The South Coast of Barbados has great appeal to the visitor. It is vibrant, with great night-life and many excellent restaurants. Mojo's is next door and a short walk away is everyone's favourite Champers Restaurant and Wine Bar. The best known area is the popular St. Lawrence Gap where you can find many popular night clubs, restaurants and bars. Also within easy reach is Oistin’s Town, famous for its fresh fish fries and down-to-earth ambience.
Rio Santo is your home away from home. From there, you can Reach Out And Touch Barbados!

My family had a wonderful time at this property. Close to the ocean for swimming, Grocery store, restaurants and much more. Hopefully we can visit again next year. Best was swimming with the turtles..
It has been almost 20 consecutive years that we have celebrated our “sister vacation” in Barbados. The island and people are lovely. This is our first stay at this very nice and comfortable location. It is definitely one that will have a place in our rotation of accommodations
The house is perfectly located on the south coast. It is spacious and all we needed. The home is simple and has the basic requirements to enjoy a stay in Barbados.Mr. Norris is such a lovely person and communication was excellent. Thanks for allowing us to stay and we would come again!
We completely enjoyed our stay! Relaxing hours on the veranda watching parrots play in the trees, just steps from touching the sea and the charismatic Worthing beach! Perfect for the self catering traveller’s experience. Check in and check out were flawless. We had some minor wifi issues but they were resolved in a timely and professional manner. Would recommend and would also stay there again.
The property is as described. Spacious, comfortable and airy in a quiet and safe location. The only blemish is that the lounge area is very hot....could benefit from a/c
e only concern
Lovely, simple, spacious, super-conveniently located. Walk to beaches and supermarkets. access to buses from the main road. Great communication with hosts. What more could you want? Highly recommend if you don’t need/want super fancy.
Host was very communicative before arrival to make certain of no surprises. This made check in an excellent experience considering our flight was delayed and we arrived on island after 1am.
Location is perfect, close to beach and easy to get around in any direction plus many conveniences nearby.
Well prepared and clean making our stay comfortable and relaxing. Recommend this location for a value priced comfortable accommodation in safe and convenient location.
Location is outstanding as it is very close to the supermarket, multiple beaches, restaurants and the coast road making it easy to get on the ZR minivans. Although it is close to Mojos, noise was not an issue from the bar. It has an outstanding large front porch with a large table that made it easy to have dinners there.House is well equipped and was clean and tidy. Property manager, Anton is an absolute gentleman, easy to communicate with and he was very accommodating to our party by allowing us to check in early and store our bags at the end of our trip. Overall highly recommended!!
Having b-fast and dinner in the veranda feeling the breeze and listening to the crickets has been battery recharging! The apartment is on a great position less than 5 minutes walking from.a supermarket, from restaurant with live music (not ideal if you have troubles sleeping)and from stanning beaches (tiki bar great aperitivo at sunset). The apartment is confortable and spacious. Bedrooms are great size,AC is great and necessary. Water pressure in the ensuite toilet is really law, not great to use the sink. The kitchen is well refurbished, fridge is big enough.beaches
I have stayed at Rio Santo Residences on ten occasions and have been completely satisfied on every occasion. I and family members have rented the house on many occasions, which features a large porch with comfortable lounge chairs and table. On other occasions I have rented the apartments. The facilities in both the house and apartments are well laid out to provide very comfortable accommodation. When staying here you have convenient access to a wide selection of restaurants such as the Park Café, a five minute walk located in a beautiful tropical park. Massey grocery store is another two minute walk beyond the park. Rockley Beach is an eight minute walk. You have everything here to make a great vacation.

We visited recently as a group of 3 for the cricket. Communication was excellent with Erskine who met us at the property on arrival.
The property itself is in a great location, approximately 1 min walk to the main rd, with access to the numerous buses to explore. It is midway between Worthing and Rockley beaches, 10 min walk either way. We preferred Worthing. Worthing food court around the corner was great and the large supermarket a 5 min walk.
The property had excellent mozzie screens, great Aircon and decent Wi-fi all worked great. Washer Dryer came in handy.
We never used the kitchen so cannot comment on its functionality.
Beds were comfortable and came with decent storage.
Overall the property is quite dated, but had space. The veranda is very large and well equipped. Overall we it was very good value.
Our host Erskine was very responsive prior to and during our 7-night stay.
The property was as described. It was clean and in a great location within walking distance to a supermarket, convenience store, cafes, restaurants and the beach. The kitchen was adequately appointed. We only made breakfast however. Both bathrooms could benefit from some updating. The bathroom in the main bedroom is tiny and the shower very confining.
The ACs (in bedrooms only) worked great. The ceiling and floor fans in the spacious tv/sitting area offered tolerable relief from the heat.
If you aren’t a nitpicker, and want comfortable, convenient lodging at a very reasonable rate I recommend Rio Santo.
Thanks Erskine!! Hope to see you again.
From the start Anton, the landlord/owner, was amazingly friendly and patient with me. The house is well maintained, but inside a little bit aged. It is situated in a quiet and safe neighbourhood (and yes, Mojos is directly on the backside and you hear an astonishing reggeaband(ritesideofred) playing every Wednesday, but I did not mind. I was here on holidays, totally chilled, so it did not bother me at all. But there seem to be people that want to spend their holidays by the beach and then complain about the sound of the waves. Nonsense.) The bathrooms are also a bit aged and look probably due to the climate situation not so good, but they function very well.
You have easy access to the main road to use any transportation you like. The closest beach is also only a walk accross the main road away. 5 minutes walking and you reach a Massy supermarket, where you can shop anything you need. I really enjoyed it here, as well as my familymembers did.
Our stay here was excellent. Our family of four prefers less touristy spots, and Worthing Beach was perfect. The beach is a hidden gem, just a four-minute walk via a small access lane across from Mojo’s. Rockley Beach and its stunning boardwalk are also nearby. There are great eateries around, and if nightlife is your thing, St. Lawrence Gap and Oistins are close. Public transport is right there, but we had a rental and appreciated the on-site parking. You’ll hear the colorful honks of mini-van buses, but that’s part of Barbados’ charm. It’s also a great base for beach-hopping, though driving here isn’t for the faint of heart. The property is simple but clean and comfortable, with spacious rooms and a well-appointed kitchen. Anton was excellent at check-in, ensuring the gas stove worked and that we were settled. A/C is only in the bedrooms, so the living area can get hot, but we enjoyed sitting on the veranda as mosquitoes weren’t an issue during our visit.Nearby Mojo’s Bar has live reggae Wednesdays and they had a jazz band on Friday. We could clearly hear the music from our patio, but we loved the vibe and the music ended just before midnight. There is also wildlife with a family of monkeys roaming around, lizards, and a neighborhood rooster who does his thing in the morning. Overall, we would most definitely rent here again on our next visit!

The property is spacious, and well secured, and in a safe area. The property, however, has shortcomings. The pillows are severely stained. Cracks in some of the walls. I wish I could submit my pics on the site. I have pics to show everything I speak of. The ceilings in the two bedrooms have stains, from leakage from above. Some bedsheets were stained with blood, and other stains. Upon arrival, we started cleaning. Beautiful, veranda, nice table, etc. The hot water was nonexistent most days. We called the management about the lack of hot water. Someone came to fix the issue. By the next day, the hot water disappeared again. If there’s lots of rain, there’s no hot water. A/C’s in both bedrooms. No A/C in the Living room and dining room. You’re going to be on fire, it’s so hot in those rooms.

This party of five spent 14 nights in our 3-bedroom apartment. Before arrival, they asked if maid service was available, but did not book the service. They duly arrived after midnight and at 8.25 a.m. sent a message that they had to "wipe down the place ... wash all the sheets on the bed, wipe down all closets " and were "looking for a broom or vacuum for the floors". This is not normal. We thoroughly cleaned the apartment the day before. We have three apartments at this location listed on the VRBO platform. and never received comments of this nature before. Our ceiling is definitely not leaking; our linens are clean and our hot water system works on solar power and therefore depends on the sun. This guest omitted to say that they ruined one of our sheets which was cream and left stained blue. We are happy to resolve issues which may arise. In this case, we are equally happy they will not return.
Clean, comfy and felt like home. I love how convenient the location is to everything. Grocery, banks, shops and restaurants. What a lovely place. I will stay here again granted its available.
I grew up in Barbados, and I would say as a visitor to the island, it will be difficult to find a better property for the value this one brings. It is close as in walking distance to groceries, public transportation, beaches, restaurants, entertainment, and, if you so choose, rental cars. One thing to consider with the property the AC is only in the bedrooms; it can get a bit warm in the common areas. Sleeping in the common area may be uncomfortable
Rio Santo is a lovely little house, that was just perfect for our needs. We spent a lot of time sitting on the verandah enjoying the breeze, listening to the birds, especially early in the morning. Erskine was a good host; he came and dragged all the outdoor furniture inside when the storm was approaching and checked in on us after the fact. A problem with one of the A/C units was quickly taken care of. We never discovered how to work the stove but we were surrounded by so many good places to eat it didn’t matter anyway! The one thing I might have liked was to have had the fridge turned before we got there and perhaps a very few essentials to get us started when we first arrived so we could make a cup of coffee or tea at least or have ice for cold drink. Otherwise, Rio Santo is as advertised, and was just lovely for our group! Thank you, Erskine!
Comfortable and well appointed place to stay for our family of 5. Close to groceries and two beaches. Easy place to relax and enjoy the ambiance and get around. Met and exceeded expectations. Jack
