Very nice home that was nicely furnished. The beds and linens were great. The kitchen has everything you would need (we didn’t cook) and the front porch is an excellent place to end your day! We had a little trouble figuring out how to get to it (access is from the alley) and a little trouble getting inside. The owners were super helpful once I figured out how to contact them. I would absolutely recommend it!
It was clean and very well laid out. Close to town center for convenience. Beds were comfortable and a garage was a plus. Nice front porch to enjoy morning coffee with the sunrise.
A wonderful property! Fantastic location and super clean. All the comforts of home. We’ve always rented a condo outside of town but loved being right in town with all restaurants and stores just blocks away. Will most definitely stay again!

Good house
Great place to stay and just as expected. If you have all the wall heaters/fire place units on at one time, all pier will go out. We flipped the breaker and had no issues as long as only one was on at a time. Otherwise a great house and good location.

Hi Whitney,
I don't believe that we have ever ran all of the heaters at the same time, if we are in the bedrooms we don't generally run the living room heaters as well since there is central heating. I do know that you can run the bedroom heaters at the same time, I just have never ran all of them in the house before since it has never been needed. I will definitely take a look at this the next time I am there! Thank you for letting us know.
Issue getting deposit returned & a very warm house
The owner sent us a note after our stay to inform us that we lost our damage deposit because we had two extra people stay at the house, as our two young granddaughters (ages 3 and 5) slept on sleeping bags on the floor.
In our very first note to the owner on January 16th, we stated that we were bringing multiple grandkids and they never mentioned that it would be an issue. If we had known, we could have easily booked another place in January, as our intent was not to fool or bypass the rules.
They stated that the cleaning crew had to do extra work but that frankly isn't true. We washed, folded and put away the four blue spa towels, only used about half the other towels, emptied the trash in the kitchen and both the bathrooms, wiped the counter tops, swept the kitchen floor and my husband also repaired the two wobbly bar stools in the front room. We make an effort to be good houseguests and I am at a loss as to what the extra cleaning effort might have been.
They also said there were a few scuff marks on the walls and I requested photos of them and of the extra work for the cleaning crew but they never sent them.
The other main issue we had (besides the electricity going out twice for extended periods) was that the house got very warm in the afternoon and evening. The outside temperature got up to 85 on three days and it was warm in the front of the house, especially after running the stove. We were instructed to not open the windows more than a crack due to bears in the neighborhood, so the bedrooms were also fairly hot until around 11 pm. There are no ceiling fans in any bedrooms and no screen on the front door, but there was one portable fan you could move around that helped a little.
To summarize:
(1). We lost our damage deposit for a house that was left in excellent condition.
(2). Told the owners before the booking that we were bringing multiple grandkids, but were never informed that this might be an issue or of any strict occupancy rules.
(3). The house was too hot in the afternoon without air conditioning. I did notice that they only listed heat on their amenities, so I want to warn others in case they don't notice it.
We have used HomeAway multiple times in the past with very positive stays. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for this time.

I just want to leave a quick response to the review below. When you have to fill in the amt of people that are coming, this is for the total amt staying in the house. When someone tells me that they are having there grand-kids with them, I assume this is in the total amt of people coming, I don't question them further to be more detailed. You cannot just have as many people that you would like in the house, there are rules.I have had my cleaning crew work for me for a few years and they have been friends of my family for over 30 years, I am not going to question them when they tell me that something is wrong, nor do I require them to send me proof. I have never had any damage on the house, Janet's groups was the first time that this has happened. I fully trust my cleaning crew and the amount of time that they had to spend cleaning. They are a small family business and if they charge me for extra time spent for cleaning, then I have to pass that along to the guest. The electricity did go out while Janet was there and for any homeowner she should know that there is nothing that I could have done to fix that issue, I wish there was for everyone, but we all know that you can call the electricity company and all they do is tell you that they are working to resolve the issue, you are at there mercy. I wasn't even told of this issue until after Janet had checked out. In my instructions for the house, It does NOT say not to open the windows, it specifically states to open the windows during the day to let the air circulate, and that at night you might not want to have the windows open due to bears, and you will be really cold as well because it gets rather cool in the evenings.
To Summarize: 1.)the house was not left in a normal use condition- it was left rather dirty and extra cleaning time was needed
2.) when you fill in the amount of people during the booking process, that is for the total amount of people coming (I think most people understand that you can't just have whatever amount of people because you told them you had grand-kids coming, that is included in the total amount of people)
3.) Most homes in Colorado do not have air conditioning, you can open windows and use the fans during the day, this is usually sufficient for most people
4.) I do not recommend Janet's group, she tends to not be truthful
Please take a look at my other reviews, as there are no other bad reviews on my profile, and please feel free to send me any questions at all!
This is a nice place for a stay. I was here with a couple of friends, passing through the area. The beds are very comfortable, and the house is located close to the "downtown" area. It was nice to be able to use the garage, keeping our motorcycles off the driveway. The owners responded very quickly to a request and I look forward to being back here in the future.
We enjoyed staying at this property over the 4th of July. We watched hummingbirds in the front yard and enjoyed fixing a nice dinner there. It was a one night stay on our way to Utah.

Very clean and comfortable home in great location.
Very clean, new home that is convenient location to shops, dining and ski resort. Great place to bring skiers and non-skiers. Plenty to do for a family of all ages. Kitchen fully stocked with cooking pots/pans, etc. I can’t wait to bring my young granddaughters next time. Only recommendation for guests, know how to run a smart tv without satellite. I never considered myself technologically challenged, until trying to work the tv. :/ Skiing at Wolf Creek was off the charts.

Unbelievably awesome!
Off the charts, clean and quiet!
A was super nice and 100% communication. Highly recommend. At first the $59 fee for insurance threw me, but after being at the property I completely understand! Private Garage parking and stunning porch view of Pagosa and the mountain backdrop. Awesome BAF in the living room!!! Being patient with a smart TV may be an oxymoron, but the WiFi takes a second or 12 to connect! Staying here again in the future!!!

If you're staying in Pagosa, it doesn't get much more convenient than this place, I've stayed in tons of vaca rental properties and never been in one this clean and comfortable!
