About this property
Lovely Waterfront Beach Haven with Hot Tub & SUP
Escape to your own slice of Sunshine Coast paradise at Westview House—a charming 900 sq/ft retreat that’s all about relaxation, connection, and beachside bliss. Bathed in natural light from its southwest exposure, this bright and airy home welcomes you with open arms. Inside, you’ll find everything you need to feel at home: a fully equipped kitchen for whipping up meals, a cozy master bedroom, and a living room with a gas fireplace, perfect for unwinding with Netflix, WiFi, or your favorite tunes on the music system.
Step outside, and the magic continues. Fire up the gas BBQ for a sunset cookout, sink into the hot tub as the stars come out, or grab the complimentary stand-up paddleboard for a paddle along the shore. The private patio, complete with shaded dining and comfy sun chaises, is your go-to spot for soaking up the day—whether you’re savoring a late dinner or basking in the coastal glow. And with direct, private beach access just steps away, you’re free to swim, suntan, or stroll the tidal sandbar whenever the mood strikes.
This is more than just a rental—it’s a retreat crafted for making memories. Whether you’re here to refocus, reconnect with loved ones, or simply savor the serenity of the coast, Westview House delivers. Privacy is paramount: no shared spaces, no interruptions—just you and the beauty of this special place. For returning guests, the experience remains as unforgettable as ever—a perfect blend of comfort and adventure. Tucked away yet close to all the Sunshine Coast has to offer, this little gem is ready to capture your heart, just as it has ours. Reserve your spot and let the coastal magic begin!
As our guest, you’ll have exclusive access to the level-entry main floor via your own separate private entrance, leading to two cozy bedrooms, a full bathroom, a well-equipped kitchen, and a spacious living room—yours to enjoy in complete privacy. Rest assured, there’s no sharing of spaces or amenities here. Our discreet, full-time property manager (a single female) resides quietly on the lower level with her own separate entrance, ensuring everything runs smoothly while respecting your space—she’s there for your peace of mind, not your privacy. For returning guests, nothing about your experience changes: the home remains entirely yours during your stay. Just steps away, the private patio and hot tub await—perfect for soaking up the sun or savoring a late dinner as the evening glow fades. Plus, direct beach access is all yours, whether you’re lounging, swimming, or paddling out on the complimentary stand-up paddleboard. Your retreat, your way!

About the host
Hosted by Chris Mortensen
Hey, it's Chris. So Carolyn and I grew up in Alberta but our paths never crossed until we were both fortunate enough to experience the Malibu Club community while working for Young Life through summers on the Sunshine Coast. Carolyn organized food and guided mountain trips for the Beyond Malibu hiking program and I ran the food services for the Malibu Club cranking out up to 1200 meals a day for the high school aged campers. We were both too busy to really take any time to connect romantically but finally seven years down the road, we both found ourselves back on the Sunshine Coast and sparks flew. ;)
Being Alberta transplants there was never really any doubt that BC would be our long term home. Who could really go back to winters at -25 degrees? Ummm, not us!
Once our time wrapped up at Malibu and we were happily married, we decided to make Sechelt the place to throw down roots. We bought our first house, had a beautiful baby boy (Kaiden) and got to work doing all those responsible grown up things that people tend to do.
All this time I would listen to Carolyn's "one day" dreams of being close to the water and enjoying time on the beach every day. "We're like a 5min walk from the water" I'd say, "What more do you want?" Well little did I truly realize that Carolyn is a woman of big dreams and even larger levels of drive.
Fast forward to 2016 and here we find ourselves in negotiations to purchase this waterfront property. Carolyn had viewed this house 5 years earlier and set her sights on making it happen. Well, through the modern miracle that is bank financing and the hard work of my lady we made the purchase official in Jan 2016 and moved in to our dream home. The place where we planned to grow old together... or so we thought.
