Charming Cottage Snuggled in Main Lake Cove with Perfect Location and Views

The Holy Toledo Lake House is the perfect get away from it all for fishing, family, fun and relaxation. Snuggled on a deep water cove right off the main lake between Negreet Creek and Pirates Cove, and only a 6 minute boat ride from Housen Creek, this cottage style lake house is perfect for the most die hard bass fisherman or quality family time. Newly renovated and furnished, this quaint 2 bedroom home has everything you are looking for. The master bedroom is equipped with a queen size bed, perfect for an adult couple. The second bedroom has a bunk bed with a twin at the top, full at the bottom, and full mattress pull out. Both bedrooms come with freshly washed sheets and comfortable full size pillows. Additionally, the living room has a wood burning fireplace and a beautiful leather queen sleeper sofa that makes it comfortable to sleep 5 to 7 people in the house. This house has 2 full bathrooms, equipped with towels and wash cloths, and a washer and dryer. The kitchen is fully stocked and includes an electric stove, microwave, regular coffee maker, toaster, blender and all cooking and eating necessities. Better yet, the house is equipped with high speed WIFI and Dish Network cable. There are 3 flat screen TV's located in the living room and one in each bedroom. Finally, perhaps the best feature of the home is a large covered back porch with ceiling fans great for cooking, grilling and hanging out, equipped with a dual burner outdoor stove and a charcoal BBQ pit. Along with a outside fire pit area to enjoy a yummy marshmallow roast. Whether it is starting your morning with a warm cup of coffee or winding down a long day of fishing on the lake, this is the PERFECT place for you.

This house has a beautiful boardwalk and wharf (for boats to tie up to), with a fish cleaning station, located on the water. There is a power supply at the wharf to provide electricity for battery charging access for boats. Additionally, the house comes provided with 4 kayak’s for all of our guest to use.

For golf or relaxation, Cypress Bend Resort and Golf Course is only located 24 miles from our home. This is a world class golf course with incredible views of the lake, spa and other amenities. Also, the South Toledo Bend State Park is only 14 miles away for campers and other outdoor enthusiasts. Finally, if you have an eye for shopping, flea markets or antiques, there are numerous opportunities for you in this area to explore.

The nearest boat launch’s are Kites boat landing 1.7 miles from us and one cove over, Big Bass Marina 11 miles from us and Pirates cove is 11.9 miles from us.

Family Weekend Getaway

Very charming place nestled under the trees with beautiful views. Perfect for a family of 4-6. Easy check in/out. Kayaks available for use was a plus! Very quiet location. Boat landing nearby but keep in mind it is steep. Enjoyed a quick visit to a local ice cream shop, Tasty Treats!!

Great stay

We had a great stay. The place was very clean and well kept. The back porch and dock was perfect. We spent the whole weekend fishing, kayaking, and relaxing outside. Definitely want to stay here again.

Fun lake weekend

Holy Toledo is nice, quiet, clean and charming place to get away for the weekend. Everything is accurate as listed and it’s easy in, easy out from HWY 191. The kids had a good time catching perch off the dock on worms one evening. Over all it’s a great place to stay!

Great location!

We loved the location on the lake! There are other houses really close but not intrusive. The property feels very much like you’re in a much northern state which I loved. The house is well equipped and maintained and the renter was more than helpful. We will be back for sure!

We loveddddd it! Directions were a little tricky at first. When we got to the house we were in love!

The photos don't really do justice for the house. Its better than expected. We had a blast there was plenty spots to sleep, location was perfect to enjoy the boats. & we were actually very impressed the house was stocked more than expected. I didn't need the pot, pans, can opener, knifes etc. All the small things we knew we would need to cook were in the kitchen. The owners are amazing for having the home well prepped for your stay. I'm hoping to go again next year. We had the best time. 2 nights is not long enough!

Holy Toledo Cabin

My pre-trip experience with the host was exceptional. Rainy weather conditions conflicted with the scheduled days we had reserved. The host was gracious enough to move our reservations one day without additional charges and allowed us to successfully enjoy our fishing trip with great weather! The cabin is very functional as everything worked well, comfortable and well decorated. We were a bit disappointed in the lack cleanliness upon arrival (dirty floors and beds) and the fact that all trash generated during your stay had to leave with you - not even a dumpster in the area. Overall experience was good, but for the price, there are other cabins in the area that should be considered.

Fishing in the woods

We loved having a quiet place out in the deep woods that has great access to the lake. Brought our pontoon out and the inlet was only a mile away. We made use of the kayak and paddle board. We also ended our last night with a yummy catfish fry. Everything we needed was there and ready to use. It was difficult keeping the baby from breaking everything, but we managed to put things up and away. There were a free paint chips coming off the shower, and the toilet seat was broken in the front bath. These were so minor and didn’t keep us from fully enjoying our stay. Loved the peace.

Peaceful Oasis!

This property is so special, I almost regret telling all my friends and family about it for fear of it not being available when we'd like to book it! 🤫 Truly everything you need, with exception of a few essentials which the owner list in your booking info. The paddle boards and kayaks were a favorite for our family. Bugs are crazy but hey, we were invading their space... you are in the woods. The newly renovated cabin, the deck space and different levels with the firepit, adirondack chairs, rocking chairs, fish cleaning station and outdoor fridge make this place special. The golf course was in great shape. We had such a relaxing stay... felt like a home away from home! We will definitely stay again in the future! 💗

Overall a great little secluded spot

Beautiful, quiet location. Well equipped with everything you need both inside and out from grill to firepit, towels, kitchen utensils, fish cleaning area, kayaks, washer/dryer, coffee pot and more. Made it easy to move home to home for the week. We remembered reading that there were paddleboards online and were slightly disappointed there were only 4 kayaks so this may have been an update/change in the listing at some point but it didn't ruin our trip. Given the remote location, owner requires you to take trash with you to a local dump spot. We tried to do this within their opening hours and they were closed. Thankfully the owner was flexible with us to leave the trash behind since there was zero room in our car with luggage and 5 kids. Only minor complain was cleanliness of the cabin. Under drawers, beds etc needed some attention. We know it's hard to maintain cleanliness in a remote location like this with all the bugs etc that fly in the second you open the door at night so we didn't expect perfection but perhaps a little more attention to some of those neglected areas would be good.

We never imagined that on a family vacation we would end up purchasing a lake house. The kids were overjoyed that we made this spur of the moment decision. Upon purchasing our lake house we moved in and put our personal touches on the home. We love hanging out on the back patio, fishing and enjoying the beautiful views of nature when we are here. My husband is an avid bass fisherman and the house is located in the perfect location for the best bass fishing on the lake. We have 3 daughters and are very busy with extra curricular activities during the spring and fall months so it is nice to get away from it all when we can. We love spending time at this lake house and hope that you will enjoy it just as much as we do.
