Nice and quiet out of the city, but still easy to get to by bus, close to a local store to grab whatever you need. Was perfect for us as I came up to do exams over in Durham, hosts were really nice and communicated with us well, would recommend for a simple stay out of the bustle of the city.

Thank you Joanne for you open, honest and encouraging review. we appreciate it very much. You are welcome here again and thank you for being a wonderful and respectful guest.
Our host was excellent and dealt with any problems immediately. The house was in a quiet area, the beds very comfortable, so slept well. There was every thing that we needed provided in the house. We had a really good holiday and there were lots of things to do nearby. We visited Durham cathedral, Seaham, Finchale Abbey, Maritime museum, Locomotion museum,, Raby Castle and Kynren. We hope to return next year.

Good house in a pleasant village. Not spectacular
A comfortable house, well equiped. The crockery and cutlery was not very clean. The instructions about where to find the key, how to switch on the hot water supply and how to get the Wifi code were a bit minimal. The overall impression is nevertheless very positive.
Nice and comfortable place with everything you need, convenient stores 5 mins walk, there are bus stops, but I think is convenient to have a car and there is a great driveway next to the house and the beds are clean & comfortable.
The only downside for me it’s not pet friendly anymore, she had a bad experience in the past with other guests and asked as soon as I arrived if my small dog would be kept in a crate during my stay. For people whom own dogs, we know that it’s difficult to control your lovely friend keeping them in a crate as she asked, so I politely explained it to her and she accommodated, but it was a stressful moment. My small dog was monitored and behaved well, but we heard other dogs from neighbours whining.
Overall it was a good experience and I recommend her place. I asked her to extend to another day and she accepted. Thanks for accepting us, my best wishes!
Our second visit to the property so knew what to expect. We appreciated the addition of the fridge freezer. The only down side was a couple of cool evenings and the heating wasn't on but overall a very good house to stay in. I also forgot the telephone number of the proprietor and do not own a smart phone so could have done with the number in the information leaflet in case of emergencies. A big thank you for all the little touches such as the washing up liquid, towels, soap, etc.

It was a very nice house a 15 minute drive from Durham in a quiet residential area. The house had everything we needed for a 2 night stay and the beds were comfortable. It also has off-road parking.

Clean comfortable property with room for improvement
This home was adequate for two of us (husband and wife).
I would like to see the two bedroom doors fitted the correct way round as neither would fit into the frame let alone close. Also the door to the downstairs bathroom was tight fitting.
The kitchen could have done with more utensils and serving crockery especially if 6 people stayed. Only 2 places to sit at breakfast bar in kitchen to eat..on reflection proper small dining room table would be better.
Our host responded quickly to requests and was very friendly and approachable. Despite the above we were warm, comfortable. Thank you
