Set in the heart of Snowdonia, national park now latest UNESCO World Heritage Site
Slate Mountain cottage was originally 2 old miners cottages. This double fronted three bedroom cottage sleeps 8 plus cot, comfortably.

Ideal for families or couples, large enclosed garden to the front with decking area, relax in hot tub/spa with views over the vale of Ffestiniog and the sound of the Ffestiniog railway chuckling pass in the distance. Garden furniture and bbq & pizza oven available for £15 each .With fantastic walks from front door walk around the lake or walk up Moelwyn mountain with the choice of three paths to choose from or hop on the Ffestiniog narrow gauge steam railway from the local station just below cottage and enjoy the scenery as it winds its way to the harbour town of Porthmadog.

Fantastic beaches from Black Rock Sands, Harlech, Criccieth and Borth Y Gest all easily accessible short car journey and for the more adventurous, we have underground caving, zip world, bounce below,
mountain bike tracks, Surf Snowdonia, rollercoaster in the woods and slate mines all within easy reach of the cottage with most taking less than 10 minutes by car.

A lovely property in a lovely location, lots of useful information was supplied prior to our stay and also at the property. Close enough to any amenities and remote enough to be relaxing. All queries and communications were responded to quickly and easily.

Lovely house for a family mini holiday

Property had everything and more that you could possibly need! Mel was so easy to communicate with, she replied so quickly when we needed help with things. Only con would be the narrow steep roads leading up to the property, but the house itself had no faults. Thank you so much for the stay x

Short break to Zip World

My son and me stayed here. It was a much bigger and better property than we needed, but it is his only holiday this year so I treated him. Zip World is only 10 minutes away, and only around 30 minutes to Harlech Beach, which is definitely worth a visit if the weather is nice. Accommodation and hot tub all as described and all the question I had were answered quickly.

Beautiful cottage.

Well equipped in all rooms. Nice surprise extras on arrival. Hot tub was lovely and was very clean. We had a problem getting to emails because of our own fault. Owner was very helpful. In getting us into the property. Lovely area. Lovely walks.

Large cottage Great location

This is a great cottage with plenty of room and in a fabulous location right up by Ffestiniog Power Station. It's an inflatable hot tub however which is fine if that's what your expecting!

Clean, functional and family friendly base for exploring North Wales

We were a party of 6 (2 adults and 4 kids) looking for a short holiday in North Wales. Tanygrisiau offers all the comforts of home in a stu ning location. The views are amazing and there are plenty of scenic walks. The property was very clean and instructions for finding and accessing the property were easy to follow. This property offered an excellent base for visiting porthmadog, harlech and barmouth and provides easy access to the Ffestiniog railway. All in all an excellent location for our holiday.
