About this property

Stunning 2 bed/2 bath Country Retreat with huge gardens

Beautiful barn conversion with 2 beds, 2 bathrooms and huge sitting room and open plan kitchen and a desk/office area on another landing. Huge space and a lot of land for wandering and dog walking. Next to a traditional thatched cottage with parking outside, it is secluded and very private and a perfect place to relax. The thatched cottage is about 400years old and the whole plot of land is listed as it is so old and historic. The 'cow shed' was developed in 2004 and has been done up to high spec with underfloor heating. All amenities you need: dishwasher, washing machine, nespresso coffee machine, fridge, freezer, hob, oven. TV in main sitting room and small smart TV in one of the bedrooms for watching Netflix. Unlimited WiFi throughout.

The property is about 5miles from exit 16 on the M4 (about 1.5-2hrs from London), with easy access to wonderful places like Bath, Malborough and the Cotswolds all nearby. Lovely country towns nearby to visit and also you have Swindon with all the amenities (bowling/cinema/ice skating/swimming pool) all about 15mins away to entertain the kids.

Wow!

One of, if not the loveliest places we’ve stayed. Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of normal life you feel secluded and it’s not just the Cowshed, but the surrounding countryside too. What I was not prepared for was the amount of land that was free for us to roam, dogs off lead which was wonderful. The countryside envelopes you and the cottage with the glass walls lets you watch nature from inside a beautiful homely base. Definitely want to go back.

An Incredible Getaway

The grounds are stunning and the house exudes charm. It is exactly as it appears in the listing. Annabelle is a great communicator and responded promptly to all our questions. It is very quiet, as we hoped. If it looks like it's for you, go for it!

Amazing place to stay

This a beautiful barn on a beautiful farm property. Very comfortable and well equipped house and kitchen. Lots of space, in the middle of gardens and fields. We saw hares, deer and a barn owl. We rode our bikes, walked, visited Avebury, had a shooting lesson and played tennis. Thanks to Annabelle for looking after us so well and special mention to Eddy the dog :)

Extended Stay in The Cowshed!

We had about a month at The Cowshed on relocating back to the UK after many years abroad. The property was great, extremely clean and well presented and met our requirements completely. Annabelle, David and all the team were terrific, friendly and always responsive to any requests, whether for local information, with Annabelle even providing an additional 'tool' for extra tv access and programming. Very happy to recommend the property, Annabelle and the team.

Amazing saty !!!

We spent 20 days and we were more than happy to have chosen these hosts and this location. The services were more than one can expect. If you love a wonderful and peaceful place to enjoy and relax, don't look anywhere else. Moreover, although out of the city, it is still only few minutes away from both Wooten Basset and Swindon, and if you want to go further, the M4 is right there too! Beautiful country estate and home

If you intend to cook be sure to get an inservice on all appliances. Location is fabulous and home is very very nice. Washer/dryer combination does a good job on cleaning but drying is extremely slow. Handyman and neighbors are kind and helpful.
