About this property

Charming Cabin 300 Yards from Free Boat Launch & Swimming Area

Get away from it all at this open floor plan, newly remodeled cabin. Set on nearly an acre of towering pines, this charming A-frame has new appliances, flooring, furniture and electronics.

Lounge on the large wrap-around deck, relax next to one of the two fire pits, or play in the spacious back yard. There is a tetherball set up in the back yard and plenty of room for you to bring your outdoor games.

Enjoy world class fishing by launching your boat or fishing from shore at the neighborhood ramp just 300 yards down the road (also a great place for swimming!). This house also has covered boat parking. Your home away from home is located just minutes from Jackson Hill Marina and Cassels-Boykin Park.

Weather not cooperating for outdoor adventures? No problem! Grab a book from our library and curl up in the charming book nook, challenge your fellow guests to a board/card game, surf the web, or be a couch potato and watch your favorite shows and movies on the 55" Roku 4K HDTV with connected Blu-Ray player.

The sleeping arrangements are cozy and comfortable with a queen Murphy bed, twin bed in the book nook, and a queen sleeper sofa downstairs. In the vaulted ceiling upstairs there are two twin beds in one bedroom and a full sized bed in the other bedroom. For the more adventuresome guests there is plenty of room to pitch tents in the backyard near a fire pit.

The remodeled kitchen has a well stocked pantry to ensure you have some memorable meals right from the start. Throw some burgers on the gas grill or cook campfire style
on one of the two fire pits. The upstairs, accessible via the outdoor deck, has a mini-fridge and microwave for convenience. The upstairs also has a screened in porch with a game table and a tree-house like atmosphere.

Absolutely loved this little place

It was amazing. The hosts were very accommodating and always responded. Love how you can change code for door and you don’t have to worry about keys. Such a nice and cute place. Beautiful back porch and the lake a few minutes walk.

Weekend getaway

My husband and I spent the weekend at The Angler and it was just as described! Very cozy, home away from home minutes from the water. Quick response from the owners with any questions, and everything from how to get into the house to what to do for departure was explained in an email and a booklet at the house. We definitely enjoyed our stay and would book again!

Great stay near the boat ramp

We had a great time in the cute house. We were able to build fires and take walks around the loop. It was a short walk to the boat ramp. The extendable marshmallow skewers were perfect. The house was comfortable.

Great little cabin

Overall the cabin was great. We only had 2 people but the cabin would easily sleep 6. The only downside is the location marker and pictures misrepresent how close to the water the cabin is. It is about an extra 200 yards from the water and the property is fully land locked.

Great getaway

The property is wonderful. Quiet, small yet very roomy. Only drawback is, there's no stairs to the upstairs inside. You have to access the upstairs rooms from outside. Still, I'd stay here again.

We had a great time. Property is well kept and easy to get to, have plenty of room for your boat and even an awning to put it under. Bedrooms were upstairs and we have an older dog that can't make it up them so we slept downstairs on the foldout couch and owner ensured we had all linens for the fold out. I will definitely stay again.

Charming Nature Getaway

We just loved our stay at The Angler! Great location surrounded by the tall Texas pines close to the lake. We enjoyed a walk down to the boat ramp to toast the sunset, a nice fire in the fire pit and playing games around the table. The kitchen was well equipped and even had a great set of chef’s knives. All the beds and bedding were new and super comfortable! The pillows were full and firm. All in all a fantastic stay. We’d definitely return!

Super cute and just what we were looking for

This property was better than expected. Initially when pulling up for the first time I was nervous about the home being close to the road (neighborhood street) and its proximity to neighbors as we have two dogs. But it worked out perfectly. The only neighbors I saw were out walking their own dogs or on golf carts enjoying their weekend. The property has plenty of space to enjoy the outdoors or stay indoors in the cool A/C. The kitchen and bathrooms were well-equipped, and the house was really comfortable and cutely decorated. Our family of 6 (2 young kids and 2 dogs) had a blast. We walked down to the water's edge and enjoyed the view. Next time we would bring our fishing equipment. This trip we just relaxed...and this home was perfect for that.

The hosts are pleasant, the property is nice, but the listing is misleading. This is a split level property. That means that four of my family members that were in the upstairs sleeping area had only access to a half bathroom and the would have to come back outside to the outside stairwell to access the full bath down stairs to shower. Not to mention the full kitchen as well. Nowhere in the listing does it say it’s a split level home and there is no access to both from inside the house. It just inconvenienced my family greatly considering it was cold during my visit. Also, must note that the surrounding neighbor has what appears to be a junk yard in the front lawn. Just to be honest here, the home was nice, but you have to be more clear and concise in your listing. The hosts were nice, the house was clean enough, and it was peaceful enough to see a deer. I’d give it 3 out 5 stars.

Lake house

The house definitely lacks privacy. There were no blinds or curtains in the kitchen at all and the curtains that are in the living room were very see through. It made my wife quite uncomfortable. The upstairs screened in room did not have a screen door. For whatever reason we both thought that there were inside stairs going upstairs to the other bedrooms. The boat parking area was very nice, but backing down the driveway to it was very tight. There was no place to hang up clothes either.

It was ok

The house was amazing. It is a absolutely beautiful property, with a lovely porch & relaxing atmosphere. Bed upstairs was very cheaply made, my husband & I fell thru slats almost every night from bed not having enough support. Tv in only one room upstairs which kinda sucked because i like watching tv when i get in bed 😬 also there is a house right next door (not pictured) that could use ALOT of cleaning up & it actually takes away from the appearance of the house. The lights went out while I was here too, for over 4 hours. It was BURNING UP, although I know it wasn’t their fault I was a bit confused because the weather wasn’t even bad like that. I would rate my stay a 6/10.

Fishing Cabin

Booking/check-in process was very simple. Owners were polite and responded quickly to any questions/needs. Was not aware that there was not an actual bedroom downstairs. It's all open (kitchen, murphy bed, built in twin, living area) in one room together. Nice open concept, but was just thinking the beds were in a separate room Was not aware that neighbors were so close, wasn't a problem just a little unexpected. Back porch was a nice area. One of the upstairs bedrooms did not have a blind or curtain over the window. Otherwise, the upstairs area was nice for teens to stay in and gave us all our own privacy. Boat ramp and lake access are a short walk down the road. Not a clear view of the lake but can see a bit through the trees. The driveway is a little steep and tricky to back a boat in, but we made it work. Suggestions= driveway could use some work, improved yard work/curb appeal, Blow/sweep porches before guests arrive. Kids enjoyed the tether ball and picnic table outside. Overall was a nice fishing cabin and accommodated our needs for the weekend in a nice wooded area.

Nice little place

The property is just as described. Erin and Brian sent very detailed instructions for how to find the house as well as how to use the locks. The beds and pillows were great for us - very firm mattress on the Murphy bed. The grill was nice to have. The only negative for us was that some of the plates and silverware were not cleaned very well - there was dried food stuck on them, so I had to wash all the dishes before we used them. I'm not sure if this reflects perhaps more on the previous guests who stayed here than the owners. Everything else was clean and tidy. We would stay here again if coming to fish at Sam Rayburn. Maybe next time the fishing will be better than it was this time.
