***IMPORTANT NOTICE - LAKE SAM RAYBURN WATER LEVELS: Please be advised that the water levels are currently very low due to ongoing dam repair operations being conducted by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. As part of this work, water is being drained from the lake. There is no projected completion date for these repairs at this time.
While we understand that lake access and water activities may be an important part of your visit, we want to be transparent about current conditions. Boat and water access in the cove may be significantly impacted during your stay.
PLEASE NOTE: Refunds will not be issued due to low water levels, as this situation is beyond our control and has been clearly communicated in advance.

Welcome to our beautiful lakefront cabin on Lake Sam Rayburn Reservoir near Broaddus, TX. This lake house is perfect for anglers, hunters, and families. Located less than five minutes from Broaddus, TX and the Jackson Hill Marina you will be close to stores, restaurants, and boat access while still feeling you are away from it all. Zavalla is twelve miles away and Cassels-Boykin public access is only ten miles away.

Walk less than one hundred feet and you are at the shore of a sheltered cove that is great for swimming, fishing and boating. Photography and birding possibilities abound-- regularly seen are bald eagles, cranes, egrets, hawks, turtles, otters, and deer.

For the anglers we have tried to meet your needs: conveniently located exterior outlets for charging your equipment and shoreline tie-offs for your boat if you so desire. The fishing here is amazing as well, with large-mouth and other assorted bass, crappie, gar and catfish waiting to hit your lines.

Hunters staying here will be pleasantly surprised at how close they are to hunting in the Angelina National Forest just a few minutes from the property.

For the chefs and foodies out there we have a fully furnished kitchen with all the utensils and cookware you need to make your culinary masterpiece. In addition we have a gas grill on an outside patio for the BBQ aficionados.

This home has wifi and internet TV with Sling, Netflix, Hulu, etc. For the kids and young at heart we have board games, dominoes, cards, etc. Not to mention our fire pit where hot dogs and marshmallows find their proper tasty end.

Great Place

Quiet, secluded, and you can beach your boat on the property. This is the fourth place we have stayed on Sam Rayburn, and by far the best. We will rent it again.

Lake Getaway!

We enjoyed our stay. Ended up having to leave a day early because I got sick. But Erin offered us a free night for the next time we visit. We will definitely be back! Erin & Brian responded very quickly to every message. The house was comfy and right on the water. The pillows & beds were so comfortable! Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a getaway!

Wonderful weekend

Enjoyed the view of the lake. Also enjoyed the back porch and all the windows on the back of the house. Would consider inviting others to come with us if there were two bathrooms.

Wonderful Getaway

I give this house A 10/10. Everything we needed , lots of room , and a wonderful view of the lake. We had had plenty of space to park 2 trucks with boats and another car. Boat ramp is right around the corner making the lake access super easy. I love the spacious back porch where you can sit and enjoy the evenings watching the sunset over the water. This house was exactly what I was looking for to enjoy a birthday getaway at the lake.

Great Lake House

This lake house is welcoming, cute and in a great location! It was so nice to be able to walk to the lake literally in your backyard to fish and soak in the sights and sounds of nature. The house stayed cold in the heat of July and was very comfortable! We caught several catfish and had a great time!! The hosts were very accommodating and helpful and the neighbors were friendly too!

Very relaxing by the water

We had a perfect stay. It was so relaxing to sit on the porch or by the water. The house came filled with just about everything you need! It was very quiet. There we a lot of fish hitting the water! Tournament Pre-Fishing Trip

Perfect house if your coming to the lake and plan to launch your boat a Jackson Hill Marina. Less than 15min from ramp, house was perfect for our needs and my son caught several fish behind the house from the bank. We are looking forward to our second stay next weekend when my son and his partner compete in the TX State High School Bass Association State Tournament.

Wonderful second visit

My husband and I and our two pups stayed here a second time for a much needed, relaxing little get away. We absolutely love this property and the hosts are so accommodating. The house has all of the amenities and is very comfortable. The lake is in the backyard and is great for fishing. We even saw a bald eagle that flew very close to us! The property is perfect for relaxing, grilling out and enjoying nature. I highly recommend this property for an escape to nature and water! It is top notch! Thank you for hosting us again!

Less Fish than Expected

The biggest negative is the lake side boat access. 68,68,78 … you need at least some cross-tie steps if not more - after rain , boats covered in mud all weekend .

Perfect Lake Getaway

We enjoyed our stay! The location is perfect for us, and budget friendly; especially since pets are welcome. The house is very cozy with all basic items provided. The couches and bed are very comfortable. Everything works well, especially the air conditioning and fans. The back porch is the best! We loved the waterfront access. It would have been great if the weather was perfect, but unfortunately there was rain which led to tons of “gumbo mud”! There is a water hose conveniently on the deck for easy clean up. The muddy bank was not fun, but we won’t let that stop us from booking another stay!! The hosts are very helpful and communicate well!

Getaway weekend.

Our overall stay was good. This property is located right one the water with a great back yard for entertaining and the inside has a nice living space. Two major complaints. First the house water smells HORRIBLE and is a discolored yellow. It was so bad we stopped taking showers completely or shortened them. Second, there is no parking & the driveway was horrible. If you are looking to bring multiple vehicles along with boats and trailers this property is NOT accommodating. The road leading to the house is damaged with loose gravel and potholes. We unfortunately won’t be staying here again. We can find something more accommodating for that price.

Most peaceful place on the lake

Our family stayed three nights. Two adults and three children. The home is clean, the beds are supper comfortable, and the house is stocked with just about everything you would need. The lake every morning was my quiet peace of heaven. The kids played on the hammock for hours and the kids enjoyed swimming. It is a little muddy to walk in but did not bother us. We washed their feet with the water hose. We sat on the porch and watched the children play and enjoyed the view. The only thing we did wish was that one of the rooms had a master bed instead of both having bunk beds. I bonked my head a few times. The two little ones slept in the room with the two twin beds. The teenager got her own room. We brought a couple of fans which helped cool with the ac because it is super hot this time of year. A friendly cat showed up and we enjoyed her playfulness. Absolutely loved this place.

Beautiful Lake

Had a great time at the lake. There were only a few things that were an issue. The first was the cleanliness of the house. I understand it’s a lake house and gets dirty easily and by all means was not expecting no dirt at all, but cobwebs and bugs all inside the bathrooms throughout the living room are less than desirable and make it seem like the cleaning is not very thorough. Another issue was having a man banging on the door at 8am the morning after we arrived, stating he needed to fix the satellite TV, not introducing himself just saying we are renting from him, looking at a closet and then leaving. There isn’t even satellite tv in the house? Very confusing and made us kind of uncomfortable to be honest. Other than that the house was fine, we had a great time at the lake and will hopefully be able to come back to the lake again soon.

It was just as described, lovely and peaceful. I was told ahead of time that the water level was low due to the damn being open. I chose to rent anyway and i am glad i did. Great little property tucked away in a quiet area.

Went up for Labor Day weekend with family and friends unfortunately the lake was low and had rain in the forecast but we made the best of it, tha house was clean beds were comfortable, nice sized yard for the kids, not to far from Jackson hill so even though the lake was low and we couldn’t get our boats in the cove we didn’t have to go far to launch, had a great experience with the owners of this camp they were super nice so huge shout out to you Erin thank you so much!!!

Green house fishing cabin

The cabin is cute, has enough space for a larger family or 2 -3 couples. The kitchen is very well stocked. Cabin stayed cool even in August heat. Although the pool level was low at the lake, the fishing was still on fire! Every fish caught was a hog! Erin was very responsive with our questions or needs!

A group of friends bought this wonderful lake house home to share with their family and friends. Our eldest partner is a decorated Vietnam veteran who has many kids and grand-kids who enjoy the cabin. The two other partners are a dedicated couple who love to fish and participate in competition BBQ and chili cook-offs (Viva Terlingua!).

Why they chose this property

We chose this property because of the lakefront location and view first and foremost. The house has windows front to back so you never feel separated from the great outdoors. The property perfectly combines the feel of a quaint cabin with modern amenities including wifi and internet TV. We can't forget to mention the cove the property sits on as it is one of the best fishing coves on the lake. We routinely see tournament fisherman casting directly at our shoreline and catching big bass.

This is truly a lakefront property, not just a lake view. We have added some unique additions to enhance your stay like a fire pit with recycled pine tree seats, a fish cleaning station and an outdoor heated shower.
