Idyllic rural break
We had a lovely, restful break in this sweet cottage in its idyllic rural setting. Snuggled between rolling fields (some populated with sheep and cows, others (after a careful check!) mercifully empty meaning the dogs could have a safe romp), the setting is picture book pretty. There is a little enclosed decked patio directly accessible from the top floor of the cottage (but no pets upstairs) otherwise no fenced off area of garden so, if you have dogs or small children, just be aware. For us that was more than offset by being able to stroll the immediately adjacent fields but it might be a consideration for some. The huge open plan top room (with shower and loo) was perfect for my 3 teens and I opted for the sofa bed downstairs with my two greyhounds! (There was also a huge bathroom down stairs). We were blessed with beautiful weather but I imagine it’s pretty cosy and romantic even if it’s rotten outside. Decent internet, big tv with Netflix and Amazon Prime etc, lots of books and kind owner and neighbour immediately adjacent for chats and advice on the area if needed. 15 mins drive from picturesque local market town, Dulverton, with a beautiful river, fish and chip shop, local Coop, and nice pubs - pretty much all you need.... All in all it gave us a really lovely, much needed, totally restorative stay away from London. Thank you very much to Doris for having us (and being so patient and understanding with my madly chaotic booking process)...
