About the host
Hosted by Catherine Stott
I am an artist living and working in the Devon village of Bampton. My husband, Peter, and I moved to Bampton in 2012 to start our art holiday business. We live and work from Weston House, which is about 300m from Coombe Dene, and where we also offer B&B between our art courses. Our art courses have proved very popular, drawing students from across the UK and from many other parts of the world.
Why they chose this property
We love living in Bampton, which is a large village in a lovely setting, with lots of local shops and services. The surrounding area is a beautiful and unspoilt part of rural Devon, with hills, lakes and river valleys. It is within 12 miles of the M5, yet quiet and peaceful: an ideal place to get away and relax for a few days or a week, yet very accessible.
What makes this property unique
Coombe Dene has been completely renovated and refurbished to a high standard since we bought the house in 2016, with modern kitchen, bathrooms and shower rooms, new carpets, curtains and furniture. It is spacious and comfortable, yet in the heart of the village, with pubs, restaurants and shops within a few minutes walk or less.
