It is a bird watchers delight with frequent visitors including nut hatches, great spotted woodpeckers, long tail tits, tree creepers, buzzard, sparrow hawk and tawny owl as well as the usual common species. The newly opened cycle trails and tunnels along the former railway line are easily accessible from this base.

For the less active it is an ideal central location for visiting all the major attractions in Derbyshire including Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Buxton Opera House, Bakewell, Lathkill Dale and all the numerous picturesque villages in the area. The area around Brushfield has been farmed since Neolithic times. Middle Farm was formerly a tenanted holding under the Duke of Devonshire's Chatsworth Estate.

The owners live in the nearby farmhouse and whilst respecting guests privacy and independence are pleased to offer any help or advice.

Why they chose this property

We discovered Brushfield in 1999 and decided that this was the place we wanted to live because of its spectacular location in the heart of the Peak District. It's in a great rural setting, surrounded by fields and woodland, off the beaten track - yet close to all the amenities and attractions of the area. Initially our children loved it, because of the space and amenities it had. In their teens it was too quiet for them and we were constantly taxiing them around to their social engagements! More recently they love coming back with their friends and partners, to enjoy the qualities that attracted us in the first place!

What makes this property unique

Stunning rural location, superb views giving us peace, fresh air and space. Modern conversion that has sympathetically retained traditional features. In heart of Peak Park and easy access to all attractions. Allows us to indulge in the outdoor activities that we so enjoy.
