Wifi did not work for first days. Host was slow to get it right. Unit is good but as on the ground floor and the street is quite noisy. A bar next door closes at 4 and 5 in the morning. So. There is very early morning noises. Host is respondibe and pleasant but there are issues.

I am responding very honestly because I am not interested in “sucking up” just to get 5 stars. I am sorry to read these things now, especially since we spoke every day on WhatsApp throughout the month and you never mentioned these issues to me. If you had told me about the noise or anything else while you were here, I would have intervened immediately, just as I did with everything else. What is the point of telling me now? I would have gladly helped you enjoy your holiday more, just as I did when you had a fever and gave you medical advice on what medication to take. Also, regarding your early departure for New York: I agreed not to charge you for the last 6 days, but as I showed you, the agency would not listen to reason because of the contract and commissions. I also warned you by email and then on WhatsApp that the agency had not informed you properly about the rules, but you preferred to continue writing to me privately and not on the official chat. Finally, regarding the Wi-Fi: it is true that there was a problem in the first five days, but it is not true that I was late. I called the technician on the same day, but if the provider takes a week to come, unfortunately I can't do anything about it: I'm not the telephone company, as everyone knows when the connection problem is theirs and not mine. And you were there and saw everything. I also replaced the modem with a new one on the same day, but the problem was not mine, it was the telephone company's.
The Cavour apartment is a cosy place with all you need for a comfortable and safe stay in the center of Rome, walking distance to the main attractions, close to Train Station Termini. The apartment was clean, bed was very comfortable. The host, Vincenzo was great, very responsible, giving answers immediately to our messages. Overall, the great experience! Thank you very much, Vin for hosting us!

Liked: Cleanliness, location, listing accuracy
No vineyard. It was urban location. A little issue getting consistent communication. We were not clear on check in, not the owners fault. But trying to communicate with them was trying. It appears they were preoccupied with other business.

Not at all true, as the previous reviews prove. And you know this very well because you didn't book directly but through a travel agency external to Verbo, which then through Expedia, which bought Verbo, doesn't communicate anything to the customer and doesn't show the customer the internal booking chat, the information, the house rules, and in fact you discovered this the day you checked in. So I advise future tourists to book directly on Verbo, using the internet, making sure that strange travel agency names don't appear in place of the original site name.In fact, unlike VRBO and the other platforms that Verbo controlled when it was bought by Expedia, Expedia is a complete travel agency with air packages managed by various affiliated agencies that, however, do not communicate anything to the customer.
Street-level apartment immediately adjacent to the main entry door. Windows are frosted glass; no aspect unless you open the windows and let the sounds and smells of the street in. Immediately next door to an 'adult club' that opens from 10pm to 4am. The precinct is dirty and unattractive.
On arrival there was a large pile of rubbish on the street at the front door with split bags; still there more than 2 days later. On the morning we left, the rubbish pile was on the other side of the narrow street.
The condition of the apartment is 'tired' and poorly maintained. It has deteriorated since it was decorated and photographed. It did not meet our expectations. We toughed it out for a week, but enjoyment of our week long holiday in Rome was severely degraded by sub-standard accommodation.
Cavour 1 appeared superficially clean before closer inspection. Appliances were not cleaned after previous guests (sandwich maker, microwave), and some are broken and unsafe (iron).
Lack of any sink plugs made washing very difficult; at least one kitchen knife should be provided.
Storage was full of the owner's bedding and towels, leaving limited space for guests to store their clothing. Items left by earlier guests had been allowed to accumulate in drawers.
Renters should be aware that: (1) the apartment is at the top of a long flight of steep steps - be careful to approach from the other direction with heavy suitcases; and (2) the owner will send a check-in agent who does not speak english
As soon as we got there, very simple checking in. Anna, was there and showed us around and provided the keys. The place was very clean and has a kitchen as well. The train station is a 10 minute walk and the Colosseum 10 minute walk also. Had internet access and air conditioning. I did communicate with Vincenzo who is the owner and he was pretty quick at answering the emails. We had a great time and the accommodations were great. We would definitely stay here again when coming back to Rome. Thanks Vincenzo!!!
