About this property

The Guest House at Willow Springs Farm -- central Shenandoah Valley location

Our turn of the century Shenandoah Valley farmhouse is convenient for travelers (fifteen minutes from I-81, exit 235) and centrally located for vacationers (20 minutes to Harrisonburg, Staunton, Natural Chimneys; 30 minutes to Shenandoah National Park, George Washington National Forest; less than an hour to Lexington, Charlottesville, Highland County).

Sitting nearly ½ mile off the county road, quiet and solitude with some country noises should be expected at Willow Springs. Cozy up in many spots indoors and out with a good book, drawing pad, or whatever suits your fancy. Get out, walk around, and experience a simple, slower pace. Watch the cattle graze while listening to the birds chirping. Starry nights, amazing moons, and the sun rising and setting should not be missed. Come experience this farm as she comes back to life.

The hundred year old farmhouse has been maintained, updated, expanded, and renovated throughout the years. What she lacks in elegancy she gains in charm and character. You will find the house extra clean, sporting a fresh coat of paint, new luxury linens, and plush towels. We will continue improving the exterior, always insuring your visit is uninterrupted.

Come up the porch and enter the house. All bedrooms are upstairs, straight ahead. To the right is the comfortable living room complete with basic television (mainly networks via antenna and blueray/DVD player). The left leads you through another gathering room to the updated and nicely appointed kitchen, complete with a Kuerig coffee maker. The only bathroom is a simple one nestled behind the dining area.

Upstairs consists of three bedrooms. Two have queens and one has a pair of twins. Dual zone central heat and air provide a consistent and comfortable environment. No natural gas or propane systems eliminate the worries of gas in the home. The Kinetico water system provides fresh and purified well water.

Extensive landscaping frames a wonderful patio and deck on the left and rear of the home. Enjoy a steak on the gas grill or cook something at the campfire (firewood provided). Plenty of space is available for the kids to roam, explore the woods, and play in the dirt. Start and end your Shenandoah Valley vacation here each day or make The Guest House at Willow Springs Farm the vacation!

This is not a working vacation. Guests should not anticipate helping with farm chores or activities.

Pre-approved pets are allowed with a fee, $50 per pet -- maximum 2. No smoking in the house. The living room fireplace should not be used. We will attempt to accommodate your travel schedule for arrival and departure times.

Weekly, monthly, and longer term pricing available.

Charming old house with modern amenities in a beautiful, peaceful setting. Very clean, very comfortable. The host was accommodating with our schedule and super friendly, even brought wood and kindling for our little campfire. Brought my dogs and they had the time of their lives running around and exploring. What a great stay, highly recommended.

Peaceful surroundings & great location

This farmhouse is very well located with beautiful and peaceful surroundings, yet close to stores, restaurants and attractions. Clean and well appointed, it is perfect for relaxing between sightseeing trips. G.R. was a great host, so were the two felines on the premises.

Great family gathering place

Willow Farms is a great place for families. My adult boys love to cook, and the kitchen was well stocked with all thevpots and pans they needed. The setting is peaceful with plenty of places to sit outside and enjoy a sunny day. We loved our visit.

Friendly farm in Virginia

This property in Virginia, just north of Staunton, is lovely. We were four friends who travelled the east coast and this was our favorite stay. A wonderful family!

This is a wonderful old farmhouse with so much character! It has a charming front flower garden and lovely front porch to relax and watch the deer. The rooms were perfect for us with very comfortable beds. It was really nice to not have to worry about packing linens and the sheets and towels smelled wonderful! We spent a lot of time talking about the house, wondering how many feet had walked those beautiful wood floors, Christmases of old, and what the families were like. It's a great place to stay if, like us, you have a wedding near Staunton or you just want to hike some of the local trails. I would definitely come back.

Great Stay in the farmhouse

Really nice stay in this peaceful farmhouse. We were visiting the Shakespeare center in Staunton, but wanted to stay somewhere out of town. This old farmhouse was peaceful, clean, and had everything we needed for a weekend stay. The host was incredibly helpful and communicative. Use Google Maps to get there, Apple maps took my wife to the wrong street. We will definitely be back.

We had the best time - perfect birthday gift for our 5 year old

We loved everything about our stay here! We visited with our 5 year old and 2 year old. The house comfortable and beautifully decorated and the views around the area are stunning. We woke up the next morning to two barn cats outside our door. The kids loved playing with these friendly cats and running along the hills. The owner was so kind, taking time to let them help feed the cows and chickens. Our stay was the highlight of our trip - we would love to come back. Thank you G.R.!

A little slice of Heaven!

We couldn't be more pleased with our stay at the beautiful Willow Springs Farm! GR was incredibly accommodating and hospitable throughout our stay, prepping the house for our arrival and being available but not hovering while we were there. We even had a special treat of seeing what we think was a yearling black bear cub mosey through the yard ~ a rare occurrence per GR. When rain threatened to dampen our Red Wing Roots plans, our vacation joy was not impacted, as the lovely covered porches gave ample room to cook, relax and enjoy the beauty of Mother Nature without being drenched. We look forward to our next visit! Thanks, GR!

Farm living

This house was like being home at grandmas house. It is way out in the country but not a bad drive into Staunton which is a cute little town. House was immaculate and smelled fresh. The cats on site welcome you and like hanging around. It was a challenge with 4 ladies and only 1 bathroom but we managed just fine. Proprietor was more than accommodating even offering to have his friend make us dinner and bring it to us at the house. We opted to go out and had awesome ribs at the Mill Grill in Stauton.

G.R. is a great host and we appreciated his efforts to make us feel at home and making sure that we had what we needed. We spent two nights here with family and hope that we get the opportunity to come back sometime.

Excellent farm house for the whole family

My family had a great stay at this spacious farm house. My two young kids and two dogs loved all the outdoor space. The host was easy to contact and if we had any issues, he was just a 60 second drive away. We were even sent home with some beef from the host’s cattle farm! The house was very clean and thoughtfully organized. We will absolutely be staying here again.

Idyllic Farmhouse in Augusta County

The farmhouse was topnotch... Comfy beds, beautiful old wooden floors, and nice heating. For those with small bladders, worth highlighting that the 3 bedrooms are upstairs and the bathroom is downstairs. G.R. was a wonderful, thoughtful host. One of the outdoor cats (Hunky) was extremely friendly. Would definitely book again.
