Good stay.

We we’re met at the airport by Joca who had the keys and showed us around the apartment. The apartment was perfectly clean and had everything we needed. It is situated in the quieter end of the town, has a beachfront position and large balcony with a good view. We really enjoyed our stay. You are advised to take care to lock doors and windows.

Arrived by taxi with a recommendation from host. Got to apartment. Smaller than advertised. Opened balcony on opposite of the road was a building site which started each day early. They way pictures are taken deceiving as makes them look they are on the beach. The AC broke down the same night. Proceed for the next 7 days to ask for the ac. Was always texted that they are waiting for the technician. The host stopped responding. The only space that was cleared out were the wardrobes all space was taken I assume by owners things. There was not one cupboard available to even store shopping so we had to store on the kitchen and oven top. Not enough blankets were provided the provided was stained and the pillow cases. Luckily we brought two bed sheets from the UK which we used. However we did tried to contact the host about the AC as some nights were quite cold and we had three children and there was no heating. Was promised they would be back the next day to provide blankets never came back with them. There was no internet for two days when rang host was told to go to street vendor and get internet and then she will pay us back! Not prepared to do as would be on my phone and not the apartment. We had TV for 1 day again text to sort out no reply. Towels were hard and crusty and were green! No apartment should used towels this colour should always be white again no new towels.Shower, washing machine and fan very rusty and old brought 1 new fan. Stained seating on balcony.
Pot lids broken no handle to pick up only one pot lid available
Had to gather owners clothes in a wardrobe and put in bag
Old rusty kitchen ware
Threads and textiles bits from owners

Good points It is in a good spot just outside of Santa Maria town. A great sea view. You can hear the waves. There is a table and chairs outside and one lounge chair. The apartment is spacious with a bathroom, which has shower, toilet, sink and washing machine. The kitchen is well equipped. Bad points There is building work to the right spoiling the view of Santa Maria bay (although it does not block the sea view- which is wonderful). The building work is noisy, drilling, knocking and dusty. From 8am to 5.30, with a one hour break for lunch taken around 12 noon. Surprisingly it also happens at weekends although not Christmas Day or New years day. The entire balcony, furniture and clothes dryer had a thick film of dust/ dirt when I arrived. Many of the pots pans and utensils need a good clean. The apartment is very tired and is in need of redecoration throughout. With damp patches in the living room under the air conditioning unit. I did not use the air-conditioning. The tv does not work. There are a number of personal items (presumably belonging to the host) in the second bedroom and in the bathroom hanging on the wall. Sadly the photos are not indicative of the standard of decoration. The apartment is noisy, barking dogs, and other apartments general noise etc.(I took ear plugs and was able to sleep at night). I was there at peak season and imagine at a less busy time of year it would be less noisy and more peaceful particularly when the building work is finished.

Super appartement, prachtige locatie, prima contactpersoon ter plekke.
