About this property

Church Cottage, Worthing

Church Cottage is a comfortable peaceful home in Worthing. There are good travel links with the train station being a short walk away and the beach is less than 1 mile from your front door. Although Church Cottage is incredibly central for everything you might need, it is still a very peaceful and quiet cottage.
There is a cosy living room with reclining sofas, perfect to put your feet up after a day at the beach and watch TV. The Kitchen is fully equipped with a kettle, cafetiere, cooker, fridge-freezer, microwave and toaster, everything you could need to self-cater during your stay. There is a large separate dining room so the family can sit together and enjoy their meal.
There is a quaint garden with seating and a sun lounger to catch the sun if you wanted a peaceful day in the garden to read a book. There is no BBQ available at Church Cottage, however, you are more than welcome to bring your own.
There is also a ground floor family bathroom with a shower over the bath.
Upstairs are 2 large bedrooms, one has a king size bed and the other has a twin bedroom with a pull our trundle bed. There is a toilet en suite upstairs for both bedrooms to share as there is adjoining doors for each bedroom.
Worthing - which takes its name from the old English for ‘place of worth' - is a vibrant seaside town with a long palm-tree lined promenade and all kind of watersports going on.
According to the local sporting community, it's the sea breeze that blows in from the south west most afternoons (‘The Worthing Effect') that make this the idea place for kite surfing, kayaking, sailing and more. There are even more land-based activities on offer in the South Downs National Park, including walking, horse riding and cycling, with the famous Sustrans Cycle Route leading all the way from Worthing to Shoreham-on-Sea.
There is some excellent shopping on offer in the town centre and a choice of cosmopolitan cafés and restaurants serving fresh food including fish that has been caught earlier the same day. If you're on holiday with children you'll find plenty to keep them amused, such as the pony rides and miniature railway at Brooklands Pleasure Park and the Splashpoint swimming centre overlooking the sea at the eastern edge of the prom. If you would like to take things a bit easier you could watch artists at work in their beach hut studios or explore the collection of costumes and other artefacts at the Worthing Museum and Art Gallery.

Family holiday
Church Cottage is a comfortable mid terrace house. It was ideal for 3 adults and a small elderly dog. The patio garden is enclosed so secure for the dog and a suntrap later in the day. The house is tastefully furnished and quite spacious. Considering it is a self catering holiday let, the kitchen could be better equipped with some new baking trays and a saucepans with lids that match. The parking is difficult especially if you return later in the day or choose to go out in the evening. We had to park several streets away on 2 days we were there. Please could the map showing zone J parking be enlarged as we found it difficult to read! Church Cottage is about 20 minutes walk to the beach but only a few minutes walk to local shops (Tesco & bakery) and the station from where we made a day trip to Brighton is in the same vicinity. We had a lovely week in Worthing and enjoyed having Church Cottage as our base.

Comfy, warm cottage well located.
Pleasant cottage in a handy area of Worthing. Close to the station and an easy walk to the town and seafront. Comfy accommodation and a wonderful shower. Could benefit from some more kitchen items and a larger fridge. Warm and comfortable.
