A former working smiddy, dating back over 100 years. The four star property has recently been refurbished and offers spacious and comfortable accommodation for up to two people. A delightful place to stay to either relax or explore the countryside
The perfect rural base to explore Perthshire Pitlochry is just 7 miles away and boasts a great number of shops, cafes and restaurants. Pitlochry is also home to the Festival Theatre, offering a number of plays and concerts throughout the season.
About Smiddy Cottage A former working Smiddy famous for the making of the Cameron plough. The plough was exhibited in Edinburgh in 1886 and won a number of gold medals. The plough can be seen in the garden of the cottage.
Smiddy Cottage is a self-contained wing of the main house in Tullimet near Pitlochy, a beautiful setting within the Perthshire hills. Smiddy Cottage is a real ‘home form home’.
Entry into the cottage has three steps and there after the accommodation is on one level. The cottage accommodates 2 people and is entirely private with glorious views of the surrounding countryside.
Ideal for guests wishing for a quiet break to relax and unwind, there are many walks around the local area, and for the more energetic guests you can venture up the hills to some of the lochs.
Just 10 minutes’ drive takes you to the tourist town of Pitlochry; Dunkeld, Blair Atholl, Aberfeldy and Perth are all within a half hours drive making Smiddy cottage a perfect base for exploring Perthshire.
The space Smiddy Cottage is a spacious self catering establishment for up to two people. Smiddy Cottage has a large spacious living area, formal dining table and 4 dining chairs plus a kitchen area with a breakfast bar for less formal dining. The kitchen comprises of fridge/freezer, hob/oven, microwave, built in dishwasher plus all crockery requirements.
The living area has a large 3 seater couch and a reclining chair. Freesat television and free Wi-Fi through out. Double French doors with stunning views of the surrounding countryside.
The bedroom has a king size bed that can be a twin on request. Large built in wardrobe with ample hanging and drawer space. Double aspect windows to front and back of property, with beautiful views of the countryside surrounding the cottage.
The bathroom has a wonderful walk in shower, toilet and wash hand basin. Underfloor heating and heated towel rail.
The price includes all electricity, heating, wi-fi, linen & towel sets. Welcome pack consists of milk tea coffee home baking and our own fresh eggs
Fire safety checks are carried out on a regular basis and documented The central heating boiler is yearly checked and has an up to date certificate. Non smoking property Guest access Entire cottage is for the guests. Ample parking space outside and outdoor seating. Guests are welcome to enjoy the gardens.which has table and chairs and outdoor dining facilities
