About this property

Fabulous home on the Mckenzie River.

We were very fortunate to have our beautiful home on the Mckenzie River spared from the devastating fires of 2020, and so we wanted to help those less fortunate in our community. We therefore took the decision to rent our home full-time to a family who had to rebuild their own home.

We are however delighted to now be able to offer Union House for vacation rentals again and to help families and friends make wonderful memories at our home on the river.

The Union House is located in Vida just across the Good Pasture Bridge off Highway 126, 40 mins from Eugene.

From its elevated riverside location, Union House enjoys one of the best views on the McKenzie taking in the glorious river, majestic mountains and the iconic Goodpasture covered bridge . The property enjoys its own dock and river frontage making it ideal for fishing and fun on the McKenzie. There are also abundant hiking and biking trails nearby. When it's time to relax, flop onto one of our many outdoor seating options, cuddle up with a book in a chair by the fire, enjoy riverside dining and entertaining in comfy chairs by the fire bowl or on one of the house's three massive deck, all with that marvellous view.

Outside the property sweeps down to the river with the house boasting three tiers of large decking with seating options to admire the views up and down the river, have a BBQ or maybe a glass or two of Oregon’s finest wines and brews.

Inside the accommodation is split over two levels. The top level has a fully equipped kitchen with breakfast nook, a large living and dining area with jaw-dropping views, half bath and utility room. Also located on the upper level is the master bedroom with its own balcony perfect for enjoying your morning coffee or just escaping the world, as well as en-suite bathroom with double vanity, tub and shower. Downstairs is the family room complete with bar, dart board and many other games, books and again that incredible view, as well as two bedrooms and a family bathroom.

The area is a perfect base to explore the wonderful McKenzie River.

About the host

Hosted by Elise Le Coz

Host profile image
Union House is owned by Amy and Bob T who live in rural England. Amy is American and Bob is a Brit, hence the name Union House!

Amy's daughter Elise works in the Oregon wine industry as a chemist and is managing the property for her parents.

Why they chose this property

Amy's family has been living in Oregon since her great grandfather was one of the very first state agriculturalist in the early 1900s, so having a USA home base in this beautiful area was the only way to go! It has provided our family with a calm and verdant sanctuary for over 13 years.

What makes this property unique

Union House was the first home built on Leashore Drive and its location and setting was chosen to be all about that amazing view of Goodpasture Covered Bridge over the beautiful Mckenzie with the mountains beyond.
