This property was a great combination of peaceful and busy. The villa was exactly as described - all facilities worked and we did not lack for a dish, utensil, or drinking water. Beds and AC were comfortable. The pool was a great benefit, clean and tidy!That said, we were just a 2-minute walk from the action that defines Ubud. Dozens of cafes, shopping spots, massage spas, and transportation options as well as a full-service grocer with a plethora of local and western products.Communication with the owner and staff were timely and clear. They initiated contact multiple times before our visit as well as upon our arrival. I would highly recommend this stay for any age or category of visitor.

We had a wonderful stay at this villa in Bali. The property was absolutely gorgeous, very clean, and exceptionally well maintained. The grounds and outdoor spaces were beautiful, and it was clear that a lot of care goes into keeping everything in great condition.The pool was lovely, although it was a little cold during our stay. Since many of the living spaces are open to the outdoors, I would definitely recommend bringing bug spray, as you’ll encounter some mosquitoes and other insects, especially in the evenings. There were also plenty of geckos around the property, which we found very cute and fun to watch.Overall, this was a beautiful place to stay, and we would happily return. If you’re looking for a clean, well-kept villa that lets you enjoy Bali’s tropical outdoor atmosphere, this is a great choice.

We loved this villa so much. The location is ideal because it’s very close to the supermarket and many other businesses, but it feels quiet and peaceful tucked into a rice field. The walking paths and nearby cafes became our daily routine, and going back to the villa for a dip and relaxation was so wonderful. The other very important thing to mention is the staff that care for you and the villa. Juli, Warni, and Wayan were so kind and helpful. Our stay wouldn’t have been the same without them. If we come back to Ubud, we’re coming back to this villa.

Five Star Property

We have stayed here previously. The property is well maintained, located and perfect in every way. Ketut and his staff keep the property fresh and nice. You have daily maid service performed by Warni. Don’t look for another property in Ubud. This is the one!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the villa and this was helped hugely by excellent communication with the owner and property manager from the start of the booking process. They even arranged a driver to collect us from the port and we used him a couple of other times as well.The villa was very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful.We loved the swimming pool - perfect for cooling after a hot and humid day.There is an excellent supermarket a few minutes walk from the property where we could get all supplies that we needed.The property was very quiet but it was east to walk in to the main part of ubud (about 15 minutes) or go to other areas. I recommend using the Coconut spa for excellent massages and treatments - just a few doors up from the supermarket.

Wonderful stay in Ubud

We had a fantastic stay of 6 days in the beautiful villa in Ubud. The layout of house is spectacular. The open living room and two bedrooms are build around a beautiful swimming pool with impressive statues on both sides. Both bathrooms have luxurious showers where you can take a shower under the stars. The house is situated walking distance from a big supermarket and our host provided helpful tips for the best restaurants with authentic food. Again on walking distance you can find access to several easy hiking trips in the rice fields. Lastly Bruce the host communicates perfectly and the staff is professional and friendly. Overall we had a wonderful stay we rate this place 10 out of 10.

True Bali experience

Wonderful. All was great. The location was a bit of surprise. No parking close to the house. Parked in a commercial lot and had to walk thru a construction site to get to the house. Not terrible but not expected. Had a wonderful time and enjoyed the pool. Outdoor shower was fun too.

All Good in Ubud

Clean property, perfect for two couples. Each bedroom has great air con and ceiling fan with a very comfortable bed. Each bathroom is spacious with an indoor/outdoor shower. Good kitchen area with a decent sized fridge. Good sized pool with a pool cleaner maintaining cleanliness and topping up water. Villa is only a 5 minute walk to the Bintang suoermarket for supplies. A nice warung also a 10 minute stroll away with nice meals for any time of the day. Taxis into Ubud at the front of bintang supermarket - a 15 minute walk to ubud, a 2 minute taxi (70k rupiah) highly recommend a stay at kupu kuou

Peaceful and tranquil gem

From the moment we entered the villa fell in love with it. Two lovely big bedrooms and open air bathrooms. Great day bed by the pool. We found we seemed to have spent most days just relaxing around the villa, venturing out only for lunch and dinner. Being behind Bintang supermarket makes it very convenient for grocery shopping but also it acts as a great sound buffer to the traffic noise. It is close to some very nice restaurants. Dumbo is a fantastic Italian vegetarian restaurant and Yellow Flower is a nice cafe for lunch. Thanks for map of the nearby trails. We did the trail to Alchemy one day and took a deviation the next day. Lovely to see a not so touristy side of Ubud. Walking to the Ubud markets is fairly easy but you can also get a taxi to and fro from outside Bintang.

Paradise

The Villa and staff in Ubud were amazing from the time we got there! The driver Ketut who picked us up from the airport was really nice and friendly. He even waited a while for us while we got through customs and took us to Mc Donald’s because we didn’t have anything to eat and it was very late. The Villa itself was amazing. My wife and I thought it looked even better in person than in the photos. The pool was nice and it had enough room to relax, swim and feel like we were in paradise. The staff were amazing. From the staff manager Ketut (different Ketut from the driver) to the house keeping who were very helpful with our luggage. The house keeping even did a wonderful job when my wife had Bali belly to check up on her and make sure she was doing well every step of the way. Since no one was staying the day we had to leave, Ketut even asked us what time we were leaving and we could stay a little longer at the Villa until we had to check out. If you are looking to book this Villa, look no further, as it was really good for price, the Villa is breathe taking, and you get well looked after with the staff. Would definitely stay here again! :)

Beautiful condo, a great retreat

Enjoyed the amenities. Close to large grocery store (Bintang) and great coffee at the ARAB coffee shop. Quaint cafe on the walk from the street. The owners were very sweet. Had many wonderful adventures that made the trip so memorable. Only issue was the walk from the street was lengthy and my husband was recovering from hip surgery. Thanks for the brochures in the sideboard. We used them for a cooking class, spa day, and day trip. Thank again for allowing us to stay in your beautiful abode.

Great location, quiet staff helpful. Pool deep so if you like shallow end not for you.

Rooms comfortable, could use a few more hanging spots for towels and clothes out of rain . We had some impressive thunderstorm activity hence end room flooded. Our flight was delayed staff very helpful and let us have later check out. Would book again

Great Villa in a great location

Just stayed two weeks at this Villa. Great Villa in a great location. Close to supermarket, shops, and restaurants but at the same time in a quiet neighbourhood. Nice swimming pools that allows you to cool down from the heat during the day. Everything you need for a great holiday. Highly recommended!

One of the most amazing staying experiences in Bali!

Villa Kupu Kupu was our home for 1 month in Mach 2017. It was one of the most amazing staying experiences we have had so far. The villa looks the same as on the pictures, clean and comfy. The villa is new and beautiful, the bedrooms spacious with amazing tropical bathrooms! It was really great just lounging at the pool or in comfortable gazebo. There is good size well equipped kitchen with big fridge. Villa have very good unlimited reliable internet connection for working online. The location is great - very close to restaurants, Ubud center with the shops, traditional market. Big supermarket Bintang is very close the villa (1-2min by foot). Villa has no direct access to the road - so it is very peaceful. Area around villa is very nice too. Rice field on one side and other nice villas on the other side. Safe gated private area around the villa. We rented a scooter and it was very convenient to get anywhere in Ubud in a 2-5min. But if you want it is not very far to go by foot to the center. The villa owner Bruce and villa manager Ketut were very helpful, and were very quick to respond to any questions we may have. All in all, we had a great and memorable holiday at this villa. To anyone considering to stay around the Ubud area, you definitely cannot go wrong with this villa!
