Pope Barn was originally a medieval farmhouse with thick stone walls and exposed oak beams. Full of charm and converted in 2019, the barn is within a farmyard courtyard setting, retains many original features and is tastefully decorated with contemporary touches.
Located on the Wiltshire/Somerset border in the ancient hamlet of Woolley Green, Pope Barn is within a short walking distance of historic Bradford on Avon and only a 7 mile drive or 15 minute train ride to beautiful Georgian Bath.
Pope barn is attractive, inviting and full of character, with underfloor heating and a wood burning stove. You can cosy up in the winter, or enjoy al fresco dining in the private courtyard in the warmer months. The barn sleeps 2 to 8 people with a spacious king size main/family bedroom which has an additional single/day bed and pullout single trundle bed. The second spacious super king size double/twin bedroom is light and airy with exposed oak features. There is also a double sofa bed in the comfortable lounge.
There is a spa hotel 100m close by with restaurant and treatments available. 800m away is an excellent pub/restaurant and half a mile further on are a number of good restaurants and pubs in picturesque Bradford on Avon. The barn is close to a public footpath leading to open fields and panoramic views of the Wiltshire downs and Salisbury Plain.
The barn has everything needed for a luxurious, relaxing break. The kitchen/diner is fully equipped to feed and seat 8 people in comfort. Outside there is a private patio/courtyard with a barbecue and wooden dining furniture. The barn is child friendly with fitted stair gates, fireguard, cot, highchair and bed guards.
