Summer Snow Cottages & Event Center, Indoor Pool, Commercial Kitchen, Yacht

RENTAL IS FOR EVENTS ONLY. WE ARE NOT INTERESTED IN SINGLE COTTAGE RENTALS.
Summer Snow is a privately owned cluster of cottages, support buildings, pleasure boats, sailboats and golf carts. It is not a commercial resort even though it can sleep from 24 to 45 guests depending on how many couples. It has held private events from 10 to over 250 people. We are located on the shores of the beautiful Bras d'or Lakes on Cape Breton Island, situated on 78 acres of pristine land with mountains, large green fairways, a large event center, commercial kitchen and an event hall that seats 75 to 100. We have a large 40 foot suspended wharf where you can fish or swim. Our indoor pool is heated to 80 degrees Fahrenheit 26.4 Celsius all summer and fall. Our Yacht is part of the rental and includes a four hour day sail with 25 people. Sail to the right you have hundreds of miles of Lakes, turn left and you have open Ocean. *- The Yellow Cottage was totally redone in 2004 and again in 2016.  It has a beautiful view of the Bra D'or Lakes and Kelly's Mountain.  Gazing out the living room window one would think they were looking at a backdrop for a National Geographic's movie. It is open year round, has hot air heat and central air. It has three bedrooms a hot tub in the deck and a beautiful garden with lots of flowers. The plants are from gardens all around the world

*- The Red Cottage was built in 2008 and looks very pretty sitting on a  tranquil  hillside over looking the lake. The cottage has a wonderful digital sound system, stone walls, and is very private. It has a large deck, fire pit, electric stove, two bedrooms and a pull out coach. Full three piece bathroom and lots of closet space. It is not uncommon to look out the window in the morning and see deer feeding in the field.

*- The Blue Cottage was built in 2010 and is a beautiful cottage, located on a wooded hillside with a large green field in front.  It overlooks the lake and is  known for its great tranquility and view. The location is ideal for those in need of a quite place to rest or curl up with a good book.  The cottage has a deck, stone walls, electric stove, two bedrooms and a large coach, full three piece bathroom and lots of closet space.

*- The Beige Cottage was the first cottage we built after renovating the Yellow cottage. It is a little gem located on a cliff over looking the lake. The cottage has a large deck, stone walls, hot tub, and a propane stove and fireplace. It has two bedrooms and a pull out coach, full three piece bathroom and lots of closet space. It has a great fire pit and many nighs are spent watching the fire and roasting marshmallows

*- The Brown Cottage was built in 2013 and is a new design for us.  It is a small guest cottage with a loft. It can sleep 4 and has a wonderful view of the water and the wharf. It is on a cliff tucked in the woods and is very private.

*- Our Yacth is also called Summer Snow. It is 38 feet long has two bedrooms and a 4 piece bath.  It can day sail with 25 people and sleeps six. It has twin diesel engines and can cruse at 22 knots. It is included in the package and comes with a captain.

*- The Bunk House is in the shape of a boot and sleeps 8 adults but the record is 13 kids and a dog. The record is held by the Muggah family. The Boot was built by Mike Dolmont in 2004. Mike is a skilled carpenter and lives in New Harris year round.

*- Our Event Center Seats 100 for Concerts or 50 to 75 for Meals depending on the seating arrangement. It has a heated inground indoor Pool and a Commercial Kitchen.

*- Our Gardens contain Van Gogh's Irises taken from the grounds of the clinic of St. Paul de Mausole in St.Remy de Province, France, where Van Gogh spent the last year of his life and where he painted one of his most famous paintings, “The Irises” The bulbs were in a wheelbarrow that the gardener was thinning out and which were going to be discarded so Ester "the original owner of the property" was given some.

Primroses from Blenheim Place: These are located all over the property they have been separated and spread. Blenheim was Winston Churchill’s estate north of London. Ester found them along the driveway.

Heather Bush near the rhododendron in the side garden by the yellow cottage came from Edinburgh Castle in Scotland.  Ester found them in the field and replanted them at Summer Snow.

*- Summer Snow is the perfect spot for dogs.  As one visitor said it is a Spa for dogs,  They can run and swim at their leisure.
