About this property
F1E 1 bed penthouse sleeps 4 with wifi and air con
Summary: Amazing base for exploring London right by the River Thames and walking distance to both the West End and the City of London, this large one bedroom penthouse apartment sleeps four with the aid of a sofa bed in the reception room. The property is located on the top floor (walk up to the third floor with no lift) in a corner building above a traditional English pub in a striking corner building that dates back to 1676 when it was The Grecian Coffee House.
The Space: Once inside the property, you are within a very generous one bedroom apartment. The corner open plan reception room has a sofa bed, fully equipped kitchen and air conditioning. The open plan kitchen features a washing machine so that you can do some laundry and travel light, a dishwasher because who wants to do the dishes by hand, toaster and kettle, fridge, stove/hob, oven and microwave. We know how important it is for people with special dietary requirements to prepare food for themselves rather than rely on the understanding and cooperation of restaurants and you may not want to eat out all the time, so we make sure you have the added choice of self catering. Of course, there are plenty of pots and pans, cutlery and crockery for you to use.
The bedroom has a freshly made king size bed with hotel quality bed linen, wardrobes with hangers, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, TV, more air conditioning and good quality towels for all guests. The modern shower room provides some toiletries on arrival. We also put together a welcome pack of tea, coffee, milk and some snacks for when you arrive.
Good quality wifi is available in all our properties to help you plan your day's sightseeing, catch up on some work, keep in touch with friends and family back home or simply to relax after a busy day in the capital.
All City Living London properties offer convenient bases to discover what London has to offer so that you can recharge at the end of the day and then do it all again.
With freeview, wifi and all bills included, every convenience is catered for to allow you to go on and enjoy your stay and there is a safe for confidential documents.
Some recent guest feedback: "Clean, central location, highly recommended." "Check in was clear and easy. We loved the neighborhood. Good amenities were provided." "Such a great little place in THE HEART of London! Down a quaint alley with three local pubs very near, and very close access to the nearest metro station, things were either very close, or very easy to get to."
Guest Access: Self check in means you can let yourself in with our detailed instructions anytime after 3pm although we recommend you arrive before 10pm if possible. Self check in means no guessing arrival times to meet your host of key handover or stressing about running late. Just turn up and let yourself in using our clear instructions. Check out couldn't be easier; just vacate with your possessions by 10am and close the door behind you. Our housekeeping team will take care of the rest.
The Neighborhood: Devereux Court is tucked between various barristers chambers and public gardens, just a couple of minutes' walk from the River Thames and just behind Fleet Street, famous for being the home of the capital's newspaper industry. The imposing Royal Courts of Justice are around the corner and the nearest underground stations are Temple and Blackfriars although Covent Garden and the City are within easy walking distance. It's central yet leafy and very quiet in the evenings and weekends but so central to access so much on foot. Highlights include The Oxo Tower, Tate Modern, London Film Museum, London Transport Museum (better than it sounds!), Somerset House right next door for Christmas ice skating, Rules which is a British institution, Monmouth Coffee for without doubt the best coffee in London, Theatreland on your doorstep with over 40 venues and Forbidden Planet for cult sci fi and comic merchandise. The National Theatre's hub in the Southbank Centre is host to some of the best plays in the world.
Getting Around: Superb transport links including three underground tube stations just a few minutes' walk: Covent Garden for Piccadilly line, Blackfriars for Thameslink, Circle and District and, the nearest, Temple for Circle and District Lines. The London Stadium can be reached in 50 minutes by taking the Central line direct to Stratford, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is under an hour away by taking the Circle line and then Overland train to Silver Street and Wembley is also reachable within the hour by taking the Circle and Jubilee lines. Ideal for solo travellers, couples or extended families. Nearest stations are Temple (District and Circle lines), Blackfriars (Circle, District and Thameslink services to Gatwick and Luton airports) or Covent Garden (Piccadilly line).
Other Things to Note: Please can we request no smoking, parties or any behaviour that would disturb surrounding or future guests.
We know that plans can change so you can book with very little risk since your stay can be cancelled with a full refund up to two weeks before you arrive.

What a wonderful little boutique hotel! You cannot find a better location than the Eldon Chambers…tucked away on a quaint street with two British pubs to greet you! Quick response from housekeeping for extras…comfy beds…and the setup was perfect for us! Yes..there are steps…but a little exercise is always good! We will definitely be staying here again!

i saw a baby mouse on staircase when i walked up to my room
nice to stay in the top floor, in the small apartment. looks clean. it was scary to see the baby mouse trying to climb the stairs and went back to the function room.
nice location.
wish that the laundry powder or detergent would be available , even it's like one or two packs of sachet.
not convenient to go buy a small pack
it is amazing to have the washing machine, but too bad when detergent or powder is not available
overall, it's good. but the price is also not cheap, considered that there is no hospitality service at all.

Perfect for our family stay in London
Our family was so lucky to have picked Eldon Chambers for our July visit to London. The flat was comfortable and let us spread out so much more than a traditional hotel. The kids were cozy but comfortable on the convertible sofa. We were able to stock up on a few essentials at a grocery store just steps away which saved us time and money each morning for breakfast. For us, the location was perfect. We were able to walk almost everywhere we wanted to visit in London, and when we couldn't walk, the tube station was very close. The theatre district and the Embankment were minutes away. The flat was modern and comfortable. There were two popular bars on the lower level, and although there were crowds each night, the noise never kept us up. The AC was very much appreciated as we arrived in London during a heat wave.

Lovely little flat, minor problems dealt with.
A lovely little flat, good facilities including dishwasher, washing meachine, airing rack, but needed a few basic cooking implements eg. wooden spoon, fish slice, serving spoon, kitchen scissors, cheese gtater, measuring jug.
Other minor problems - only one mini shower gel for four guests and no soap. Left a note for housekeeper on first morning of stay and two days later was left some soap and (not kitchen) scissors, towels left outside room were replaced that day. Also, as requested, batteries in TV and clock were replaced.
Could be more generous with tea and coffee sachets, only one of each per person per stay, but was useful to have some milk for first drink on arrival.
Plenty of washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets and some laundry tablets.
