About this property
A beautiful home set in 11 acres of grounds, overlooking the Mendip Hills.
Barley Wood is a historic house full of character and charm. Built in 1801 for the social reformer and authoress Hannah More. Later Barley Wood was home to the Wills Family-Bristol Tobacconists. Now part of the YMCA Dulverton group and used to create income for charity, we host many events and group holiday rentals.
The house is set within 11 acres of gardens and woodland with stunning views across the Mendip Hills.
With nine large bedrooms and five main bathrooms there is plenty of room for the whole family! The house also boasts two large rooms for events/group dining, a reception/lounge area with an open fire and piano and a domestic kitchen stocked with all the essentials. An additional three toilets are located on the ground floor. All rooms are doubles however we can add an additional five single camp beds for children and travel cots if required.
On site parking, lots of outdoor space and a BBQ are located at the venue.
We are happy to recommend local restaurants, pubs and places to visit or help to arrange chefs to cater at Barley Wood.
