Pula is the largest city in Istria. Its most famous attraction, the well-preserved Roman amphitheatre called The Arena, is one of the most famous sights in the whole of Croatia. The most famous and important monument, built during the 1st century AD and completed under the reign of Emperor Vespasian, this amphitheatre is the sixth largest in the world (of those that still exist). The three-storey structure held 23,000 spectators in Roman times and today hosts numerous concerts and events throughout the year, including Pula Film Festival.
Fažana is a small and picturesque old fishing town ideal for relaxation and recreation. It is also the port from where you can reach the Brijuni Islands National Park, the well-known Earth’s paradise. Families with children will find beautiful beaches and playgrounds, there are various sports facilities, numerous restaurants, ice cream shops and beautiful seaside promenade where everyone can enjoy sunsets and sea air. There is a 12 kilometres long bike trail, which offers an additional experience of the wonderful coastline while passing along alluring Mediterranean vegetation with a gorgeous view of the Brijuni Islands.
