Charcoal BBQ Grill available.
Community pool and park in Jamaica Beach. Pool fee for daily use fee paid at pool directly. Season usually is Memorial Day to Labor Day. Cable and WIFI provided. Internet Access/Cable service can be unreliable on West Galveston Island. We had a great time! the location was good. very close to the beach. The house needs some upgrading but was in good condition. Wish the boat and kayaks were accessible. Would stay again.

House was enjoyable it had all the amenities that were listed o the site. only draaw back was the lack of wifi the entire stay. Also the dvd player was broken. I would think of staying here again if wifi issue was fixed.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Three explorers were out to enjoy the natural beauty offered at Galveston Island -- and a few migratory birds, too. Jamaica Beach became our perfect home with its three bedrooms, multiple baths and well-stocked kitchen, but we loved the deck. The neighbors were so quiet and respectful so gazing at the full moon and stars was a delight, and breakfasting with a view of the state nature preserve will be a long-kept memory for us urbanites.Thanks to Keitha and Valerie, our questions on accommodations were answered and they made sure we had the best stay.

Only issue we had was WIFI signal was not good, all they need is to get Xfinity which is right out front of the home and that would fix the issue with that, and the satellite that I had to restart 3 times. Other than those issues everything else was perfect. Thank you for making a 25th anniversary getaway great!

The house was a good place to stay. The beds were hard and springy, there were cockroaches in the house… big ones! The WiFi would allow you to connect to it, but there was no internet connection. We were given two sets of keys upon arrival, and only one key worked to the property. Also the house was not level. The back door couldn’t open all the way, which was really annoying! If we were any larger than we were, we wouldn’t have been able to use the back door to the deck at all. We found cockroaches in the house, which I think we killed about 15 of them. Overall I’d say that I’d give this place about a 2.5 star rating. The house definitely needs some work done on it, and some maintenance.

Lovely house

We really enjoyed our stay here. House was clean and spacious! The extra room downstairs to store fishing and beach stuff in was super cool. Made it very easy to keep sandy things not in the main house. Also having the bathroom down stairs, made it so kids werent running up and down the stairs soaking wet! Fishing wasnt that great but neighbor did tell us it had been a rough go as of late. Neighbor does have 3 dogs who are friendly and will come on over! I have a 4 year old and all of them loved her and let her love on them! Air vents are noisy but it does work well! If you are in the main suit when it kicks on and off it is very loud in that room! It worked well for our family of 4!

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: It was okay. We were outside most of the time at a neighboring house, which is why we chose this house in the first place. A/C worked great, which is important. Queen beds were comfortable enough. The twin beds were very hard and one was missing one roller so the bed slanted down on one side. Because the house has shifted, doors don't shut that well and there is a slope to the house. Front door lock is hard to open. Carpet is old. Guest bathroom shower drain leaks to the outside and down the side of the house. Drawers in kitchen hard to open and close. Just a reminder no extra paper goods or trash bags. Be sure to bring your own as well as soap and shampoo, etc. We did see a few (five) roaches during our stay. We've stayed here the last two years and will probably not stay again. Management company was easy to contact when needed.

Rally 2024

The room downstairs had mold on the wall and spider webs at the entry. Although there were some nice upgrades upstairs, there were some issues with bugs/ roaches. After cleaning and wiping down counters, I left the drying mat on the counter only to walk in the following morning with bugs crawling around in the kitchen. The kitchen only has a single sink, and the faucet is stationary, making it not very convenient. The garbage disposal did not work, and I purchased a stopper for the sink. When I went into the guest bathroom, a huge brown roach crawled around in the shower. This is minor, but instead of putting a bottle of handsoap in both bathrooms, whatever little soap was left behind had water added to dilute and thin it out. Fortunately, I brought hand soap. Unfortunately, I forgot one and left it.

There is only 1 thing that should be addressed. The master bedroom is so much colder than the rest of the house. The neighbors are very nice. We spent most of our time under the house by the canal as it is very calming and relaxing.

Extended weekend trip

This was our first canal house rental in Jamaica Beach. We loved it! Family of 4 and had day visits from Auntie and Cousin who live close. Well stocked kitchen. Cold fridge, booze fridge major bonus. Kids loved jumping into the canal, floating around and fishing at night. Bring a rope and floating device so you can climb out of canal. No ladder. Rental gals were fabulous. Easy key pick up at entry of neighborhood. We will be back.

Great fishing location for guys trip

Checking in was a little more difficult than other properties because the key must be picked up at a secondary location. However, the location is convenient to amenities, and is right on the canal which makes fishing and kayaking easy. The deck is high up so that high tide doesn't affect usage, and we were able to enjoy the outside space the entire time. The kitchen was decently stocked- could use sharper knives and we were missing a wire brush to clean the grill. The water pressure was great throughout the house, The beds were were comfortable and the bedding was average. Cleanliness of the house was good- we noticed some spiders around, so may be time for an exterminator. This was our second stay, so we obviously would recommend it as a great spot for a weekend fishing with the guys.
