The best features of our cabin are its location and mountain and valley views!
This is a spacious one level log cabin with three bedrooms, two baths and great indoor and outdoor space. The highlight of our cabin is the gorgeous all season views from the great room and both bedrooms! Dancing Goat log cabin is a perfect spot for a family vacation or even two families as the master with ensuite bathroom is on one side of the living area and the other two bedrooms are situated on the other side with a separate bathroom. Bathrooms have Jacuzzi brand deep soaking tubs to relax at the end of the day. Great for girlfriend getaways too! The beds are comfortable with hypoallergenic mattresses covers. All bed linens and bath towels are high quality cotton. We have beautiful cotton quilts for warmer months and comforters with cotton duvet covers from Pottery Barn for cooler months. One of our favorite features is the spacious kitchen where you will find everything you need for preparing a family meal. There is a Jenn-Air gas grill on the deck with piped gas. No hassle of changing cylinders midway through grilling. The cabin sits on an acre of flat land with trees. It provides complete privacy yet easy access and close to all the attractions. It is less than a mile from the Mast General Store, Dutch creek ice cream and next to the Jerky outpost. There are several outdoor areas to enjoy - a pergola and patio with a swing set with mountain views and a fire pit for those starry night gatherings. The cabin has a rural country charm along with modern amenities like dual band wi-fi through high speed fiber connection, Samsung 4K ultra HD smart TV with Roku, YouTube TV and Amazon movies and charging station for all your devices. There are horses grazing in the pasture across the street. There is a small farm to the side of the cabin where we watched the playful goats and sheep that inspired us to name the cabin. (Goats are gone now!). The cabin setting evokes feeling of nostalgia and escape to a classic American getaway. Relax and soak up the Appalachian countryside views and make memories that will last a lifetime! We hope you will enjoy our mountain cabin as much as we do!

About the host
Hosted by Mona
We have traveled near and far across this country and around the world and the Blue Ridge mountains hold a special place in our heart. The beauty of the four seasons brings with it numerous festivities and activities to enjoy year round. The charm of the fresh crisp mountain air, its people, its music and the natural beauty make this region a wonderful place to relax, refresh and unwind. Our cabin has been a well kept personal home and stared welcoming guests for the first time. We stay in vacation rentals when we travel and we have taken special care to ensure that our guests enjoy their stay at our cabin and leave refreshed. The grounds are professionally maintained and we change the inside decor based on the season. We work hard to make sure you will have a wonderful mountain getaway!
Why they chose this property
We love the Valle Crucis area and our log cabin is well built and has open floor plan with hard to find spacious kitchen that we wanted. We like that it is easy to drive up during all seasons. There is no windy and steep mountain roads to climb. Parking area is flat and accessible and enables us to get in and out of the cabin easily. Valle Crucis is a small charming community with farms, pastures, mountains, Watauga river flowing along the road and home to the original Mast General Store and other unique stores. We come here to unwind and love visiting Boone, Banner Elk (both about 10 mins away) and also Blowing Rock is 20 mins. There is an amazing hike just 10 mins down the road to the Crab Orchard waterfalls! Hiking, skiing, fishing are our favorite family activities and also attending music concerts, country fairs and festivals. WINTER ACTIVITIES: We are within 20 to 30 mins to the popular ski and snow activities in the area Beech Mountain Ski resort- 30 minutes (13.5 miles) Sugar Mountain - 20 minutes (11.5 miles) Appalachian Ski Mountain- 21 minutes (10 miles) Hawks Nest Snow Tubing and Zipline - 20 minutes (10 miles) Keep in mind that mountain roads leading to the ski resorts become windy so it takes longer to get there compared to straight roads
What makes this property unique
Our cabin features four unique benefits: 1) Unlike many cabins our most unique feature is that all rooms have a gorgeous view of mountains even when leaves are full in summer! The scenery changes every season and it is breathtaking. To wake up in the morning and watch the fog rising from the mountains is something we look forward to! 2) Our cabin is easy to drive up to, no climbing narrow and steep mountain paths. We have a flat driveway parking for 3 vehicles. no chains in winter. 3) Cabin has a spacious open kitchen with modern appliances where guests can gather and prepare a meal or just hangout. 4) Our cabin has flat ground all around it and it is amazing to walk around and kids to run and explore. Many mountain homes are located on a cliff with no walkable flat ground
Our cabin decor is mountain country and feels cozy. While outdoors, we enjoy the view from the swing set under the trellis. At night we enjoy the fire pit and love star gazing. While indoors we read books, watch movies/shows, play the piano, listen to local country music station from the kitchen radio or play cards. The cabin has modern amenities like high efficiency heating and air conditioning and we are able to use the strong wi-fi through fiber to stream our favorite shows or finish up with work. Our cabin is accessible and would allow all guests to enjoy the mountains.
