This stunning villa is a fantastic base for a holiday in the St. Tropez area of the Côte d'Azur as the routes to all the major attractions and famous beaches are easily accessible. Villa La Prairie offers guests contrasts between exploring the peaceful hilltop towns and countryside of Provence with the buzz and excitement of St. Tropez.

Villa La Prairie has been completely renovated and is furnished and equipped to a very high standard, with air conditioning installed in all bedrooms. It has a contemporary French style and a bright and spacious design. It is situated in protected farmland and surrounded by vineyards. The secure, gated grounds make it ideal for families with children, and the secluded pool area and terraces on three levels allow guests both privacy and space for relaxation. The villa is set within beautiful contained parkland gardens, with green sweeping lawns and mature trees. The views from the gardens and terraces are breathtaking.

The villa also features a beautiful pool house and large stone terrace with outside entertaining and seating areas, which can be illuminated at night to create a perfect ambience for balmy summer evenings. The pool can be heated to ensure that guests can enjoy the benefits of swimming from Easter until late summer.

The secluded pool area in the Upper Garden is perfectly situated to have sunshine throughout the day. The pool house, lawns and nearby trees give the opportunity for shade. The pool is alarmed and has entrance steps to give easy access for the elderly or small children. The villa is well equipped for children with high quality resources including a travel cot, stair gates, toys, a 'Stoke' highchair and most things that families would need to cater for their children whilst on holiday.

The design and layout of the villa works extremely well for both couples or up to two or three families. Villa La Prairie is the perfect place for entertaining. The large covered terrace and al fresco dining area is the best setting for breakfasts, BBQs or watching the sun go down with a glass of rosé. The property is on three floors and all bedrooms have reversible air conditioning and views over the vineyards, beautiful gardens and surrounding countryside.

We, the owners, Nick and Fran Gowlland, are British and have a twelve year old daughter. We have both travelled extensively and have had the privilege of staying in some amazing places but the South of France and the St. Tropez area is the place we love coming to more than anywhere else. The minute we arrive at Villa La Prairie we feel relaxed and at home. We hope that this will be how our guests come to feel about their stay.

Why they chose this property

We bought our property after carrying out extensive research and visiting the area ourselves as a family over several years. Villa La Prairie has the layout, space and design that really works for groups of families and friends and this was important to us when buying our French home. The pool, gardens and views are restorative and we felt this as soon as we visited the Villa. We knew from the experience of being holiday makers in the St. Tropez area ourselves which beaches, villages and facilities it would be important to be near, but we also wanted to be able to access key routes to destinations easily without being caught in the summer traffic. The geographical position of Villa La Prairie managed to meet all of our criteria.

It was also important for us to buy a home that we could renovate and design to ensure that we offer all the modern contemporary requirements that family and guests expect, whilst maintaining the French charm we had fallen in love with when we first saw Villa La Prairie. We have worked very hard with a great local team to renovate our home to a high standard.

What makes this property unique

Villa La Prairie offers the perfect combination for a luxury holiday destination. It is unique in the sense that it is rurally situated in tranquil vineyards, but only 15 to 20 minutes' drive to the most popular destinations in the St. Tropez area, and positioned so as to avoid peak season traffic. It also offers guests opportunities to enjoy the experience of a traditional French town, which functions all year round. We particularly enjoy the area in the spring and late summer, and every time we visit there is more to explore.
