About this property
Host & Stay | Gun Gutter House
Summary:
Gun Gutter House is a charming holiday home located in the quaint fishing village of Staithes. Sleeping up to 4 guests, Gun Gutter House is ideal for families or groups of friends looking for a coastal retreat in North Yorkshire.
The Space:
This newly refurbished two storey house is a gorgeous little getaway by the sea.
Access to the property is through a traditional walkway lined with crab pots, instantly giving you that wonderful fisherman’s village experience.
On entering the property you are presented with a small entrance hall, synonymous with fisherman houses. To the right you have the cosy living area. This space features deep teal sofas, a traditional open fire and hard wood floors. Overhead you have the original beams and a decorative chandelier. Enjoy an evening in front of the tv or make plans for your day ahead in these gorgeous, characteristic surroundings.
To the left of the front door is the beautiful and bright kitchen and dining area. The traditional style, bold blue doors and Belfast sink brings a real sense of charm to the room. Fully equipped with everything you should need for a short break you can cook up a feast in here or enjoy some local produce from Betsy & Bo. The round wooden dining table seats four people comfortably with farmhouse style chairs and blue striped cushions.
The downstairs is a bright space flooded with light from the large sash windows.
Back through the living area to the rear of the property you will find the bathroom. This is a modern style wet room fitted with an electric shower, WC and basin. Small grey tiles cover the walls and floor, the room is finished off with a wall hung mirrored cabinet and chrome heated towel rail.
Take the stairs to the first floor where you have the two bedrooms. The first room features white walls and original white wood panelling. The double bed features a stone coloured headboard and is dressed with crisp white linen and blue patterned cushions and matching throw. The original fireplace brings charm to the space while the bed side tables and matching blue velvet lamps bring a sense of simplicity.
The second bedroom features two single beds and has a nautical theme to it. The beds are dressed with a bold red throw and a striped cushion while the bedside lamps feature octopus and tangled tentacles. This bright and airy space is the perfect retreat after a busy day by the coast.
Situated right in the heart of the historic fishing village of Staithes, once home to Captain Cook, you couldn’t be more ideally placed for enjoying everything this village has to offer.
