Situated just off the Cleveland Way, there are many fine moorland and cliff top walks. There is a golf course and driving range in Brotton, 6¾ miles away, and at Scaling Reservoir, 7¼ miles, there is sailing and fishing. There is a leisure centre 2 miles down the road and a 2-minute stroll down the cobbled street brings you to the centre of the picturesque fishing village with its small harbour nestling beneath rugged cliffs. Step back in time and walk the quaint narrow passages, as Captain James Cook himself must have done. Here in Staithes there are village shops, pubs, cafés and a restaurant, and in 2020 the village was featured on the BBC programme ’Gone Christmas Fishing’ with Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer. Why not travel on Harry Potter’s Hogwarts Express (the North Yorkshire Moors Railway) through ’Heartbeat’ country, or visit Whitby and its famous abbey which is 11 miles away.

Lovely hut, lovely spot
Great, well equipped. Warm and cosy. Excellent access to Cleveland Way. Can recommend Cod&Lobster, Fox&Hounds for some good pub food.

We stayed in Coble Cottage in October with our dog.
We stayed in Coble Cottage in October with our dog. The cottage was very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed, we liked the lovely touches of flowers, milk, biscuits and even dog treats waiting for us. We weren't sure which car park we we're supposed to use on arrival and Sarah was on hand to help and throughout our stay. The cottage is well positioned for Staithes but being at the top of the village, it's a steep walk back which we didn't mind, but if you don't like hills don't visit Staithes! We would definitely recommend and we hope to visit again. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

We really enjoyed our stay at Coble cottage.
We really enjoyed our stay at Coble cottage. The WW2 barracks accomodation has been very well renovated to provide a very cosy holiday cottage. There was a lovely bunch of flowers and a very welcoming packet of oreo biscuits waiting for us as we arrived. The cottage is perfectly situated for Staithes Harbour, being just a short walk down various different paths that we found, and not too far away is Whitby and Scarborough.
